tore his acl yesterday at practice. man, that sucks. seeing stuff like that happen spring really sucks for these kids.
I hate to see injuries in Spring. I hope he makes a Complete recovery.
The human being in me agrees. The douchebag in me is glad we wont have to see him in November.
PS I really like the new spell check thing here on the message board. It makes sure I spell douchebag correctly.

It is definitely hard to see a player at any level lose a year because of injury! It will be a major blow to Michigan but fortunately, Hoke has done well in recruiting. Unfortunately, none will be able to fill in the production, aggressiveness and tenacity that Jake brought. I still think we will be ok on defense, just not as good as we could have been
BTW, awesome comments guys! +1s
Too bad it cant make the sentence make sense. LOL. I always like to see our opponents at full strength, and us at full strength. Hate to see guys injured or suspended.

look straight at me and you see yourself”

Thanks for the sympathies guys...big loss. Feel for the kid...
Hate to see this for any player, regardless of uniform. Here's to a speedy recovery and a more fortuitous '14 campaign.
Best of luck to the kid, hopefully he can be back to 100% and on the field next year.
I just hate to see scUM players play well against us.
I hate it even more when they are from Ohio.
I hate it even more when we could have used them on our team.
Watching Desmond Howard and Charles Woodson back in the day just killed me.
PS they need to fix this spell check. For some reason scUM isn't recognized as a word in the English language..
Very nice show of sportsmanship fellas!
huge blow for the kid, going to hurt his draft status unless he takes a medical and comes back next year.
He is a RS Jr this year so he would be back next year anyway. Also, he most likely won't get the 6th year bc he RS as a freshman and that RS didnt involve an injury
yeah...i'm about 60/40 human vs d-bag on this one...but only cuz it's march...btw, what spell check thing are you talking about?
Ya, can't imagine the lousy feeling it is to work so hard and then find out you basically have to wait a year and do a bunch of shitty rehab for like 12 months just so you can try to play again. :(
Ya that sucks for anyone. No matter who they play for. Hate hearing those things.
If the surgery is done correctly, he should recover nicely. However, if the graft is taken from a dead guy, i'm not so sure it will hold up...but i'll defer to any surgeons out there when it comes to an autograft vs. an allograft.
Edit:To add video. I never really knew what an ACL repair was. It's computer animated, so no gross stuff.

i hope you took notes...cuz there will be a quiz
Tough break for a good player. He seems like a hard worker, though, so I'm sure he'll bust his butt to get back as soon as possible. Here's to a speedy recovery.
Kid Columbus: Keeping the street of Columbus safe from Wolverines since 1998!
With all the injuries on the ACL or MCL, you think there would be more ways to protect these guys from getting these hurt. I see the league and NFL harp strongly on concussions, but I wonder how many more ACL/MCL tears there compared to concussions? I think they are about equal IMO. So all this testing, new procedures, new equipment for protecting these players heads, and they can't come up with a device to protect their knees.
There really is no way. Basically if you are in any sport with repetitive course changes, you are at risk for ACL tears. It is the nature of the beast.
Definitely sucks for the kid. As already pointed out, he seems to be a worker, so hopefully he makes it back.
I don't even want to think about injury and the Bucks right now!
all these guys are bigger, faster and stronger these days which makes these types of injuries even more common. the good news is that surgery is so common that you can bounce back relatively quick (8-12 months).
