I hate the team, the school and those thug union bastards in that state. Check out those overpaid, underworked idiots as they sucker punch this reporter from Fox News today.
New video every week!
cause stuff like this never happens in ohio or anything
I'm sure it does. They just seem to have more of an elitist, entitlement mentality than some others.
Without labor their is no wealth. This so called "right to work " law they snuck in is an old Union busting measure thats been around for 50 years. The real thugs in this are the 1% and their tools who have been ripping us off for ages. They really want all working people weak and disorganized so they can make millions and millions more. Their entitlement greed knows no bounds.
I didn't hear anybody bitch when the ole 1percenter Les Wexner helped pony up for Urban. Why weren't all those people at work today anyway?
Normally factory workers start around 7am and get off at 3:30. Others could be laid-off, night shift workers, retirees or other. Should't have to rely on the 1% for for a good coach.
Without vision, leadership, entrepreneurship there is no labor.
Unions have gotten way to greedy. Unions have become more harmful to workers than good. If you are a company why would you want to start your business in a state like Meechigan and have to deal with unions. Hence the current situation they are in. No jobs. Ohio isnt much better. Its time for you to pull your head out of your ass.
Im not talking just about factory labor.
Waiting for another handout from the government ( me the taxpayer) to bail out a company that goes broke paying union wages and having top management getting paid millions.

Appreciate a civil discussion. Unions are not the reason the economy is in bad shape. We have lost almost all of our mass production to Asia and other countries. We are now down to 7% unionized workforce. In the 50's it was closer to 40% If working people have little in their pockets they cant even buy the stuff from Asia. The greed is in the astronomical payments to CEO and their lieutenants and stockholders. We workers unite into unions to protect ourselves from the bosses verocious greed and arbitrary management. But we have been loosing this battle big time. They have been outsourcing professional work like engineering ,design, and other fields too. Got to go to a meeting now so cant give my opinion on why the economy is in bad shape.
Well....if these unions were as tight as they want us to believe nobody is stopping them from donating union dues.....The law only disallows negotiating securities ( dues) for non members. Again, it is like taxes, you want to pay more? Nobody is stopping you from making a donation. Appreciate civil debates. I am tired of fighting.
Unions are a part of the reason the economy is in bad shape. Not entirely...but they have a foot in it.
We have lost most of our mass production to Asia and other countries because of unions. Companies (whether right or wrong) decided they didn't want to have to deal with unions. Unions have served their purpose. But today they are not entirely necessary as we'd believe. Today whether right or wrong....the american worker has an image...and a bad image at that. Americans are perceived as fat and lazy people....protected by their rights.
Part of the problem is we as a nation have blurred what we consider to be rights and what we consider to be privileges. We have to admit that sometimes the demands that american workers (usually associated with unions) have actually done more harm than good.....demanding benefits, pay and other incentives that a larger majority of people feel are higher than what they should be. In other words.....those benefits sought after are far and above that level of work that's being done. Not making a blanket statement here and not saying it's across the board...but it is a huge part and reason why many companies have decided to move production to places where those demands are not being asked for.
The truth of the matter is greed is at the center of all the worlds problems. Always has been....and it's getting worse. Because of greed....it has affected everyone.
CEO's have played a huge part in it....but the worst entitlement program America has to deal with is the entitlement our own government leaders have given themselves over the coarse of the past 25 years!!
Our government is bad. Our government is corrupt and our government needs a major major over-haul. We as voters have been duped. Neither the republican nor democratic parties are concerned here....and we've foolishly let ourselves believe that these people have our best interest at heart. The only interest they have their heart in is their own.
It is estimated that the 1% of the wealthiest people in our country have an estimated $32 trillion dollars stowed away in off-shore accounts that they don't pay taxes on. $32 trillion.
Yet the republicans don't want to raise taxes on the rich (which isn't raising taxes...it's just asking them to pay the same percentage as everyone else) and the democrats want to raise taxes on the rich and meanwhile both parties raise the taxes on an ever shrinking middle and working class group of people (if I can afford to pay 27.5% to 31% in federal taxes then so can all the billionaire CEO's and millionaire politicians).
I'm no math wizard but it is sure as hell not hard to figure out that the numbers are not going to compute....there's a hole in the bucket and no one is doing anything to stop the leak.
Just remember those were union teachers who called in sick today and screwed the kids over.
And why is that money oversees? Hmmmmm? Ten percent of 20 million in taxes is more than you will probably earn the rest of your life. If you and Obama want to talk math, do it correctly.
All I know is that I’m in the middle class making an ‘average’ wage. If the overpaid union, above ‘average’ jobs all go away (God knows we have far more below ‘average’ jobs already) the ‘average’ wage goes lower. The ‘average’ benefit and ‘average’ insurance coverage all go down. I’m not pro-union just want the ‘average’ to trend up not down.
Have you guys read a history book? You do understand that places like China outlaw unions for a reason. Im not in a union nor is my wife but I am a student of history. I agree 110% that unions have their downsides and that there are people who take advantage of them. I also agree that they sometimes protect horrible workers. BUT are you really suggesting that all non union employees are terrific? I dont think any unions caused the economic meltdown on Wall Street or the housing bubble. That was good old fashioned greed and its alive and well folks. There are bad workers in ALL forms of life. Go to a doctor and wait an hour past your appointment time and then sends you off with a prescription that is completely wrong because he was cramming in a few extra patients then ask him if hes union. What I do know is that prior to unions in America, people were exploited, under paid and were put in dangerous positions without an ounce of regard for their well being. I also know that companies paid people in currency where its ONLY value was in company stores. I also know that the middle class was basically nonexistant preunion. If you think that companies are "better than that" in the 21st Century youd better think again. Just look at how they treat their overseas workers. Like I said, there are many negatives that are associated with unions but we had ALL better be careful what we wish for.
Exactly. It is more than I'll make ever in my life.
But what part of math don't you understand? Is math selective?
We are talking about math. Percentage. Fractions.
So I'm asking you sincerely. What part of my math is wrong? 10% of a dollar is .10 cents. 10% of $10 dollars is $1. Both the dime and the dollar are equal as far as their respective percentage. Yes the dollar has more value than a dime but that's not what we're talking about here.
Our government spends spends spends.....in an amount that's not really comprehensible. We have CEO's and politicians worth more money ....like you said....than I might ever dream of having in 3 of my lifetimes.
Let's say a millionaire CEO in a good year has a taxable earning of $100,000,000. Now let's say Bob earns a nice $50,000 in a good year for him. For arguments sake....let's say the CEO pays 15% in taxes and owes the IRS $15,000,000 and Bob pays 25% of his earnings to the IRS and owes $12,500. Who is paying more of their money? If you answered Bob....well you know how to do math.
Yes....$15,000,000 is an absolute shit ton of money.....but to a man who makes $50,000 grand a year so is $12,500. I think the millionaire CEO can afford to pay 25% in taxes and I don't think that is in any way shape or form unfair.
But if we continue on the path we're on...as we have been for the past I don't even know how many years.....the well is going to run dry. The obscene amounts of money our leaders spend is on the backs of hard working people like "Bob" who make up the majority of income when you add all the other people who put their blood, sweat and tears into their jobs.....add em all up and that is probably in the area of 35% to 45% of our workforce.
Then you have the remaining population who sit on their hands and asses not contributing what so ever to the pie.....it's not going to end well if this continues.
Yeah I'm with you on that. Don't know how to do it.....obviously I'm not a union leader or politician......I just don't know. Greed has infected everything.....it's crazy.
I agree with you, but competition, personal choice in selecting a higher paying career, and good ingesting are better than regulating. Many people like to cheer when min. wage goes up. I ask why not raise it to 30 an hour. Answer is inflation, dollar value drops and our stuff doesn't sell overseas, further killing the economy.
People blame CEO's......Their job is to manage the bottom line. More than the company fails if the bottom line fails. Pensions and investments by others suffer. Furthermore, I don't care what a CEO makes. How many of you possess both an MBA and a juris doctorate? Many CEO' have earned those. You get paid based on your ability and the size of the job.
My cousin is a huge union guy. He worked as a union electrician at an iron ore mine in Minn. He used to brag that it cost the company $200 to change a light bulb -- a union plumber to move the scrap piece of pvc that was on top of the ladder, a union carpenter to set up the ladder, and a union electrician to change the bulb. The union contract specified that if a worker worked 15 minutes on Sat or Sun they would be paid double time for a full shift, so everyone showed up for 15 minutes on Sat and 15 minutes on Sun, were paid double time for 16 hours. Then when the steel manufacturing went overseas he criticized the greedy company.
There was a time when unions had a real purpose, now not so much.
Well that's very very true.
I am no way shape or form anti-union and didn't mean to convey that I am....
I think I was basically trying to say almost exactly what you were able to communicate....and that it's a culmination of many things that are wrong with our current state of affairs.
Corporate greed IMHO is the main culprit as I think anyone here would almost agree. It has had it's trickle down effect though....and I find it interesting that not one single investigation has been done or at least reported for that matter about those responsible for what happened with the housing market or wall street....
...and that was done with other peoples money. It's sickening. Why doesn't anyone in our media ask these people the tough questions that we are all thinking? It's crazy...
But digressing....in my post....I was just pointing out that unions are completely innocent of our current situation. No one is.
You are right about being careful what we wish for... I don't want unions to disappear. Not at all.
All politics aside..... I need no more reasons to hate meechigan!!
I completely agree with you.
I really don't give a damn how much a CEO makes. That's certainly not my point at all. They have a tough job to do running a major company. I sure as hell couldn't do it....
But you have to admit that also....there's been plenty of corruption and back handed, back stabbing back door deals done by some shady business leaders....and there have been many innocent hard working people affected by those decisions too.
Like I really meant to communicate...there's a multitude of reasons why things are the way they are....it's not just the unions, it's not just the CEO's......it's a lot of things that have been going on for a long long time.
Another great example.
Does this represent the entire scope? No it does not. But it certainly has a lot to do with it.....and like 95buckeye said....it's not just union workers who practice this kind of work ethic....
....there are plenty of non-union workers out there who take advantage of very similar situations at their jobs...
That's enough of a reason for me to hate them. :) Hard to believe some people are that stupid, but it is what it is. Some good posts from some Buckeyes though over there. If you check out the thread, try to upvote the Bucks who stood up and called a spade a spade to them since they're likely being pelted by downvotes from dicks over there who can't handle the truth.
