after they knew it was all made up.... This story, from ESPN, three guys decided to start a fundraiser to donate to Leukemia fund in the girls name and on behalf of Te'o. They decided AFTER the NCG to start this. Notre Dame sent a videographer to them and do a story on it and posted it on the ND website....Now, at this point, ND knew it was all fabricated, so why go interview these guys and then post the "feel good" story on their website? Pretty lame.
The article is long but this part is covered starting with the last quarter of the page.
While not saying that Manti Te'o participated in or knew about the hoax that his girlfriend did not exist, a former teammate told ESPN's Bob Holtzman on Wednesday that players knew that the woman wasn't really his girlfriend.
Have no fear, Notre Shame has covered up much bigger things than this. Rape and death just to name a couple.
This is capitalizing on the story… My favorite is the kiss cam kissing your imaginary friend
Businesses looking for attention know how to get it these days: Tie to Manti Te'o, the Notre Dame linebacker in the midst of a fake girlfriend scandal.
Should we really be surprised? The Catholic Church has been covering up scandals for awhile now. What makes Notre Dame so special?
Didn't open the link but laughed out loud to the thought of a Te'o GF Bobblehead......

Notre Dame told Manti to still speak about his "girlfriend" as if she was real throughout the NCG.... How does that reflect on ND? The game is most important, don't embarrass us before this big game...thankfully Alabama took care of the embarrassment job....
Jerry Sandusky is not famous he is infamous. Anyone that fights that he did nothing wrong or was himself wronged is either trying to use his case to make them feel better about some transgression they've done or are getting paid a pretty penny. Not going to touch the president thing because I don't know enough to make a valid point. Your point on TV shows making being gay socially desirable is completely mute in my book. I'm a younger individual and know that being gay still causes you to be ostracized to a degree, not as much as it used to I imagine but their is still a general negative outlook on that. If you live a gay lifestyle you are either truly gay or have some real deep seeded emotional issues. I can't imagine anyone choosing to be something their not when that choice would cause you to be looked at with a certain amount of disdain. The medias positive movement towards the gay lifestyle in theory should help that population live ideologically a more American life. Allowing more of the population to pursue happiness with out fear of outright prejudice.
Edit: The most disturbing thing to me about the Te'o story is that if he's involved then he piggy backed on his grandmother's death for publicity which is extremely jacked up in my book.

Whether Te'o was involved from the beginning or not, he still lied about it after he found out. There are 4 documented times he spoke about his girlfriend and her death to reporters after Dec 6th, the date he found out it was a hoax. So, why would he continue the charade? That was his choice to lie from that point on.
Good point didn't really think about that. Their's just so much caution tape around Te'o now it's crazy. I can't believe Bill Polian was on ESPN the other day saying their are no red flags about this guy after the story broke. I assume he said that because his I want to say grandson recruited Te'o. Then again why can't an NFL team look past this. They look past aggravated assaults, multiple DUI's and accused rapists and murderers. So what's the the big deal about an egotistical Morman from Notre Dame that either piggybacked onto his own grandmother's death for extra publicity or continued the charade after he "found out" for the publicity with the Heisman voting.
Yeah, I don't see how this will hurt him getting drafted, hell they've drafted much worse. But Te'0 better never be late for a team meeting and throw out the old "flat tire" excuse. He will have to deal with he's not going to be believed on everything he says for a while.
He'll have to go with the my girlfriend took the only car we have excuse
