MSU fan here...
You guys ever thought of calling UM "Michigan State"? That'll drive them up the wall for sure
Let 'em. I got a big kick out of OU beating them in basketball last year.
Besides, "That Team Up North" is Woody's legacy and that's what we've called them for decades.

Ask a scUM fan who they lost their last 3 basketball games to and their true idiocy will shine bright
That would be hilarious and drive them crazy! i like.
no. when you're 31-9 in your last 40 football/basketball games you really dont have to say much in my opinion. i saw a thread on michigans scout website about how "this is how a rivalry feels!" ummm yeah, if you like losing
This^^^ Gotta honor the old man.
Why call them a team that plays us hard? Way too much credit for SCum!!!
No -- only an idiot would call a team the name of ANOTHER team that already exists. It just makes the person saying it look like a moron. I have a good Michigan friend at work and he doesn't refer to us as Ohio for that very reason -- knows it makes the person saying it look like a complete idiot. It's not offensive to Ohio State fans in any way, shape, or form -- it just makes the person saying it look like they have absolutely no idea what they're talking about.
And as Iowa mentioned it's sorta funny because they seem to really struggle with Ohio teams in general. Toledo beat 'em at football in 2007. OU knocked them out of the NCAA tournament last year. OSU took down their #2 ranked squad yesterday in basketball, and beat them 8 of the last 10 years in football. It's not even close.
What would really be interesting is to ask them the day after they lost to us in football who they played (and lost to) the day before. I wonder if they would really say "Ohio" in response to the question. If so, compliment to the Bobcats I suppose.
Ron White said it best -- "you can't fix stupid".
This right here. I don't find it offensive at all. Don't know anyone who does. I find it kind of stupid when there is an actual Ohio University that has recently owned them. I just always thought it sounded like a lame attempt to get under someones skin that totally doesn't work.
How about "Ohio's bitch."
That can apply to both schools.

The one that usually gets under most of the ones I know is "Michigan University" or "MU". For whatever reason, they just CANT resist correcting me even when they know my intent. So, screw michigan University.
How many of us cringed when Pryor announced he was going to The University of Ohio State? Or the kid at the UA All-Star game who said he was going to "The University of Clemson"?
Faux pas though they may have been, the correct name of the school is something you should get it right.
Well Pryor never was a Krenzel in the classroom--if he ever even went!
No, that would just degrade Michigan State.
Actually believe it or not, I remember reading he got pretty decent grades while he was here. I'm sure he didn't take rocket science classes or anything really crazy, but I don't recall ever seeing him struggle in the classroom at least from the articles and reports I've seen.
But that would make us as stupid as they are.
They can call us "Ohio" all they want as they lose game after game. They are the ones who look like a pack of fools. Wait till we teabag them on national TV in the big shit house next season.
"The only thing That Team Up North will be tasting this year is the salty tears of defeat" - UFM
Actually that would be a compliment to them.
I agree -- I'm going to have to rescind my suggestion
Yes, I like "Michigan University" too. "MU", lol
Besides I wouldn't insult Michigan State like that.
Some of us have referred to them as Michigan University occasionally, but it hasn't stuck.
I'm okay with calling them MU. It would put them in the same category as another disgusting university: Mizzou.
