To all the buckeyes who think they will just get back to the same type of ball that was played when Tressel was in charge WAKE UP!! Urban needed quite possibly the best player ever in college football to win at UF, a team that recruited the lights out of OSU!! Once Tebow left, Urban failed miserably. For those that think he's just gonna come into the B1G and run the show you are highly delusional. Braxton, yes, a great talent is no Tebow or Alex Smith. Urban's staff have shown no ability to develop talent like the staffs at Iowa, Wisconsin, or MSU have. The B1G as a whole is no longer scared of Mighty OSU. Spread offenses do not sustain in the B1G, just ask UM, MSU, PU, and ILL.
If MSU loses this year I'll come back to eat crow, but I was also the same guy that asked you OSU fans last year what would happen if MSU won in cbus and 98% of you gave Dantonios squad (the man that delivered your only recent championship) zero chance. I didn't come and gloat, I like talking football.... But to act like UM (wow his initials are the same as your arch rivals) is going to take a 6 win team and make them undefeated with a tougher schedule I'd have to ask, what are you smoking!?
My father and 2 of my best friends are huge buckeyes and to be quite honest, OSU was respectable and a team I'd root for over Michigan. But lately the mix of Clarett, Pryor, Meyer, and the majority of the buckeye fan base' we're Osu, we're the best, and everyone else is beneath us is just sickening! I hope Meyer fails miserably, not for the players who work their butts off, but for the disgraceful fans OSU has been recently known for and the attitude of Meyer himself.
It's a shame Tressel stood up for a couple dumbass athletes you had.... That was a man of character, one that should make a University and conference proud. but you(Osu) are no longer his, and your football team has now become hated by all because of a man that will likely be gone once Braxton has moved on. You are no longer the juggernaut you we're just a short time ago.
Se'von is looking really goooood!
Look at my avatar sparty....you need to put it down.
I think (and hope) you will be unpleasantly surprised by the results we see in the near future. Most folks don't expect an undefeated season this year with the installation of a new offense, although it is possible as our schedule is actually one of the weakest we've played in a while (I'd compare it to directly to Michigan's cupcake schedule from 2011). We're used to being hated on, so you're not bringing anything new to the table with your venom. Just hope you keep to your word and return to eat crow as I do believe as long as our offense is firing on all cylinders by the time we play you guys we have a better chance of winning than losing.
And yes, the past statistics demonstrate that we are better than you, by quite a bit. And that goes for pretty much all of the Big Ten over the past decade. No matter how much it infuriates or "sickens" you, it'll still be true when you get done with your little tantrum.
And as far as the spread, try not to think of Urban's offense as a traditional spread like RichRod's. You will see the Buckeyes run power a LOT like they did under Tressel, it'll just be out of a spread formation and the defense won't be able to predict play-calls because we actually have an innovative offensive play-caller now which should help. We ran into a lot of 3rd and long situations due to bad play-calling over the years.
Looks like you had some time on your hands and decided to regurgitate the dire message that SCUM fans have been sending us in different forms over the last 6 months or so.
To quote that famous MSU graduate, Betty Crocker, "The proof is in the pudding."
Let's here again from you in November, eh?
Well, although I do understand his points on Urban, but I believe he's just been found wanting.
Little brother has a big mouth......
There is probably a good reason almost every preseason poll has OSU in the top 15, its because of talent and our coach something your team severely lacks.
You my dude, are a moron. You guys aren't too far past that blowout vs Bama, does that still sting? You got lucky to beat our worst team in a decade last year, and now you think you have the right to tell us how our team will be in the future. Why don't you get you're own ducks in a row first.
...i find it hard to believe that someone would post such stupid shit, not only here, but also on the scum boards, the msu boards, the iowa boards, and the wisky boards...get a life asshole...
Win a Big Ten title instead of one game against the Buckeyes under Dantonio, then you MIGHT have room to come back and talk.
Kid Columbus: Keeping the street of Columbus safe from Wolverines since 1998!
It's kind of humorous people keep saying that Meyer needed the best player in CFB to win a NC when, you know, he won one with Chris Leak as his starting QB.
I can see this perspective, but the overall talent level in the BIG is lesser than the SEC. As such, the supposed down years are actually contention years, and Urban is well aware of that.
I like urban, but i was suspected, although not a determining factor, that he got out of Gainsville because of Nick Saban, who in my mind one of the greatest college coaches of ALL TIME. it is much easier to compete in the BIG than in the Saban lead SEC. Ask Spurrier about Saban.
Nonetheless, this isnt a knock on Urban; he took a different career path that essentially led him home to a national power program. He knows he can recruit at OSU, thats a no brainer. So the talent will be present year in and year out.
Sans Michigan, who appears to have rebounded from their funk, there isnt much standing in his way of 10 win after 10 win season, with a undefeated one sprinkled in over the next 5-10 years.
You may not like him, but thats what he will do. You're attempting to diminiah a two time NC winning coach, hard to make that argument.
"man we got some fuckin weirdos on this site." - Davebucknut 9/5/13 post of the year
It seems the OP liked Tressel more, which is fine. The rest of his comments are off base.
Ya, it's just something i've seen regurgitated by people across multiple different areas and it's like none of them realize that Chris Leak played 95% of snaps the year he won his first NC.
Where are we located in preseason polls?
You're right, we got whooped by bama! They were also pre season #1and it wasn't close... We started the year unranked and over achieved greatly. Every bowl game prior to last year has been the same way. UGA With stafford #1 pick and Moreno; BC with #1 pick Matt Ryan, mike leach's last TT game and us with 13 suspended players. And let's not forget it hasn't been that long since Osu also got ran off the field by an SEC team, but hey you rebounded alright the following years.
I can't believe you followed me around to all the other boards to check! Am I the only with time to spare?
Is MSU not 2 years out of a B1G championship?? Yeah remember, MSU beat a team you couldn't.
Another thing about DickRods "o" at tsun, towards the end, he was seeing production going up! The thing that killed DickRod was so-so recruiting (which Urban is light years better than) and ABSOLUTELY no defense. They would score 40 but give up 41.
2010 - Ranked 6th in the Nation in total offense/Defense ranked 110th in total defense.
2009 - Ranked 59th in the Nation in total offense/Defense ranked 82th in total defense.
2008 - Ranked 109th in the Nation in total offense/Defense ranked 67th in total defense.
Do you see the trend? What's that saying that the SEC is using, DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS!!!! The spread works, bad defenses don't and this is why he's gone!! Not because of his offense.
Thats why you can only take an MSU fan with a grain of salt!

Thanks for the good reply,I didn't say UM(the coach) wouldn't win, i just don't think he will win as much as Tressel did. And as for SEC being easier to win in than the B1G, ask Saban how well that worked. Saban is the best coach right now and he left state without a conference championship, something hes won every other place he's coached.
How many times has tOSU beat a team you couldn't? Man, this is a fun game!
Sparty where is your response to Allday's post? Chris Leak was the starter in 2006 I can't remember but was he the best player in college football then? If I recall they were calling for his ass to get benched the whole season. Looks like another fan of another team just grasping at straws.
...i didn't follow you anywhere you dumb fuck, i just clicked on your name...it shows your posts...now piss off...
This is confusing. Unfortunately I spent a lot of money to go to Glendale Arizona in January of 2007 to watch a Urban Meyer team punch us in the mouth on both sides of the ball and yes I got very drunk but I'm pretty sure that the "greatest QB ever" had very little to do with it.
Are you 12? Ohio State has been a top college power since the 50's, with more or as much tradition as ANYONE!! Winning here hasn't came overnight like some other places. We are a blue blood. I'm thinking if UFM can turn Utah into a BCS program that beat Bama, he could win and win BIG at a school that is committed to winning and has the resources every year.
We are delusional at times but it has been created by success. We have a track recored of winning here. It's ok to feel inferior to Ohio State and my advise to you is....Get used to it!!
Well, this is embarrassing...
