I know the link is for CBS, but it's still the SEC and even with all the Hype ESPN constantly spews in regard to the SEC, their ratings down again this year. I think as many people are sick of the SEC as we are.
With Notre Dame going undefeated this year and the Buckeyes going undefeated this year, we had some of the "most Viewed" games of the weekends a couple times.
Since late 2010, 17 of the past 30 SEC games on CBS have been decided by at least 21 points.
Hilarious that just as you post this thread ESPN has a "Rich Get Richer" story on the SEC on their front page. It's comical to me that people like Dari Nowkhah on ESPNU ask why college football fans think ESPN is in bed with the SEC, when there's example after example of the fact that ESPN goes out of their way to talk about the SEC any chance they get. Why not give NIU a front page story? Why not give Louisville some pub for getting into a BCS bowl?
I understand that these coaching moves are huge, but there are so many teams that deserve a spotlight, and it seems like it's always the SEC that gets it.
How can Bielema have a slow, subSEC caliber team but get hired by ......the SEC? Funny how suddenly Bielema who lost 5 games this year and finished 3rd in such a "pitiful" conference can become Bill Walsh by driving 500 miles south. Anybody who doesnt see this nonsense for what it is is blind. ESPN inflates and dictates football ranking because its good business. As Herbie was whning about UGA being left out, I was trying to think of ANY team thats EVER won a national championship that was beaten by 28 points 6 weeks earlier. Bunch of windbags who unfortunately have cornered the market on college sports for the near future.
It would be Great if FOX won BIG's 2 tier rights and NBC bought BIG's 1tier rights and ESPN got none.. BTN would have plenty to air and might even need second channel for all the 3rd tier games. NOw if only the BTN would have a SportsCenter type show Every Day.. And needs it's own radio sports talk shows too.. Would do the conference wonders and it's players too not just football but in other sports also.
Exactly...which is why I believe that Delany & Co. brought in MD & RUT, and will perhaps bring in GT and others. Football wise it didn't make much sense to me but business wise it does. Especially with GT the B1G will have every major media market locked up outside of TX and CA. ESPN will have to think twice about who its "preferred conference" will be going forward. No way they don't adjust their strategy. The rankings will swing more towards our way very soon.
