they have 31 commits right now. The SEC must give a crash course when you join and tell you how to oversign and get away with it....
btw, Georgia has 30 commits as of now too.
If I'm recruiting against them, that should help, letting the kids know that only 25 of those will be signed this year, "Could you be the one left out?"
My understanding is that early enrollees can be credited against the prior year's class if there's room.
You. Beat me to it Iowa. Who knows how many of those will be on this year. I'm not sure where our numbers are right now, but I have to believe we'll get a couple of earlies and hopefully fill this year's class out. Anybody know where we are at?
We maxed out last year's class...25 guys. Southward quit so technically, we have an opening.
But the bottomline is what matters most...82 guys total.
True. But if we ended at 81 this year, we can have 1 early count towards last year. Is that right? Or if we finished with only 80 and lost 1, we can early enroll 3 this year? That's how I understood it.
Sorry, when I said last year and this year I meant 2012 football season.
Crazy part is A&M isn't done yet. They are still in on Mitchell & the WR decommit Seals. And a few others as well from what I have seen, so they could end up with 35.
Well, If I'm recruiting against them, I'm pointing out to the kid that only 25 can sign for this years class, there may be a couple EE, but the other boys will be asked to Gray shirt and not go to school until next fall....What athlete, that "thinks" they can play as a frosh wants to do that?
A bit unrelated, but I love how I'm already seeing Texas A&M fans saying they'd destroy Ohio State. Suddenly you join the SEC and apparently the fact that you were a middle of the pack Big 12 team last year, who this year lost convincingly to Florida and LSU, doesn't matter anymore haha.
But none of these kids think they are the one NOT good enough to play 'cause they've all been told that they're essential.
I'm glad they're mentioning us, puts us in the limelight.
If you've been watching your TV lately, this red-shirt freshman, Johnny M. (QB), is lighting up the SEC, including Alabama. And since we don't play anyone on our schedule nearly as good as LSU or Florida, it seems a little unfair to bash A&M. That is one exciting team to watch!
