I don't know what brought it up, but I was talking to a couple of Buckeye fans here in Charlotte and they said the band never travels to Penn State. Specifically Penn State. I thought that was odd because I read somewhere that they always travel to the biggest away game every year and it would be my guess that this would be it. Why wouldn't we play at Penn State, yet play at Michigan and MSU?
Because in 2005 Penn State fans tossed urine bags all over them.
is that why they are called pee su?
And I think they travel to only 1 away game a year, and this year it was MSU.
That is absolutely why I call them PeeSU.
Interesting you mention that. I've noticed in the past that it appears that USC, and perhaps Texas, take their band, or at least a part of it, to every away game. Do they have a travel bigger budget?
Not sure on budgets and how it's done, but have seen it discussed before. Believe the band votes on the away game they want to go to. Only year they travelled to 2 away games was when we played @ Texas. That trip was paid for through a donation.
I was there that night and saw things I could not not believe...like it or not, their stadium is a rickety venue inhabited by some of the most rude and insensitive animals I have ever seen.
How firm thy friendship O-HI-O
I was there as well!
Yes, I remember the band go to travel to UT via donation.
Once again, those with the IQ of a turnip speak up.
One road game per year and they used it up at Mich St.
I think the logistics of travelling to Happy Valley is the problem.
I would say this represents the typical PSU fan, very uneducated and poorly thought out comments. Way to represent your school tool.
I up-voted this for the sheer randominity.
Someone lurked for ten months waiting for the right time and place to share his wisdom and this was it.
Not to mention he accuses us of being stupid and uneducated, but he is the one who misspelled the word
Hating scUM since 1964

I would like the band to travel to more games.
On the other note. Why do you guys quote and reply back to these troll posters. I don't get it. You all complain that they come on here and talk sh%t. Then you go and quote them and add a reply to that poster. Just ignore it. That's how you get rid of them. Trust me, after a few posts and no one responds to them, they will leave the site.
But once someone quotes them or replies back to them, that adds more fuel and shit talk goes back and forth, ruining the whole thread.
Sometimes I question the posters on this board. You think they have been on here for a while that they understand to not to reply back to these trolls, but they always do. Wondering what is worse, these outsiders or people on here.
Just posted this in another thread, but my brother was in the band the last time they were there. In addition to the urine bags, my brother almost got hit in the head with a rock and other band members were hit with FULL cans of beer.
So that's why they don't go there anymore. Here's to hoping Penn State joins the ACC.
My your liqueur be cold, your women be hot, and all your problems slide off like snot.
You too! Thanks for stopping by.
Nope.. In 1975 we travelled to both MSU AND ttun. And o. To the Rose Bowl. That was the first year the second place team I the big ten went to another major bowl game. We got pelted with oranges by their fans after it was clear we were going to the rose bowl and they were going to the orange bowl. Of course play California Here We Come didn't sit we'll with their fans.... :):)
Penn State has the worst fans in the big ten and maybe the nation. I work with a PSU fan that has threatened to take me outside and kick my ass over football talk. He hounds me every day and is always in my face. I walk away all the time and try to ignore him but he follows me and won't give it up.
He says the reason that PSU fans always throw piss at OSU fans is retaliation for OSU fans throwing beer bottles at Texas fans. He thinks it is funny and well deserved.
They are absolutely the most off the wall fan base who need to get their priorities straight and realize that people should not be assaulted over a game.
Take care of your family, kids, wife and career without putting them in jeopardy over a football game.
Hey Guys before you blast an entire fan base about how bad they are, I have a ton of pictures with OSU fans that i welcome to eat and drink with us every time you guys come to town. I know we have some real clowns just like you do. Last time i traveled to Osu in my rv i woke up the next morning with a big red O painted on the side of it then a few minutes in to the trip i broke down, why because someone put sugar in my gas tank. Just because one idiot fan decided to be an Ass it diddnt change my view of the other 99% of osu fans.
I have traveled to many different road games and the only place where i can say that something negative diddnt happen was Alabama. Its part of going on the road, doesnt make it right but it happens everywhere.
