As well as the bags of urine they were pelted with by those country ass-clowns.
I was just talking to a set of parents this fall who's son played for Ohio State for 5 years (one year was a redshirt) and they never missed a game home or away. In 5 years the only place that they said they would NEVER return to was Penn State... even if their grandson ended up playing for the Buckeyes
That's a fact. "Crappy Valley," where the goofy hicks are drunk, the women are lonely and the cows are nervous, the stadium is rickety as the day is long, and class is nowhere to be found! Yep, that pretty much sums it all up! Oh, wait a minute, I almost forgot...there is that little matter about harboring a child molester for years!
Why bother, they'll never be good again. Bill OBrien ought to be the next coach of da Bears if Santa is good this year...
2005 was a great game! Had lots of fun!
Keep that memory fresh please, it's gonna have to last you a loooooooong time.
I'm just saying it was a fun night, that's all.
I think what he is implying is your team will suck for quite awhile due to the "cult"ure there and you will not be winning too many games against decent teams for a LONG time......so hang on to those memories.
We were supposed to suck this year and it turned out ok. Are we going to be elite? No... but we aren't going to suck.
It's the big 10 dude, 8-4 aint that impressive. You are given 4-6 wins a year depending. You did have SOME talent left behind.
Just to show my holiday spirit though I will say something nice here. I like your coach, seems like a cool dude. Not sure how long he will stay there, he just doesn't seem like a 10 year college coach and will probably be heading back to NFL. I have nothing to back that up, just my opinion. And one more nice thing before I get back to reality, you must be proud of the kids that stayed and played this year as I am sure it was rough.
Now, get the fuck out of here. And Merry Christmas.
Day#310 said it correctly; B.O.B. will be back in the NFL before too long and PeeSU will be interviewing H.S. coaches.
Well look, we did beat 4 bowl teams, including the Big Ten *champ* (I know, I know), so I think that classifies as at least having a decent team.
As for the returning talent... we had only 67 scholarship players. If you include the kicker and punter we had NINETEEN new starters and returned a QB who was second to last in QB rating in the Big Ten only to our other 2011 start who bolted for LSU. We have a good recruiting class, all things considered, and will likely end in the 25-30 range which will be in the top half of the league.
Could we have a bad year? Sure, but signs are pointing to us at least being average during this period of sanctions.
Again, just an indictment of the schedule sir. For a school to lose so much and still be able to be moderately successful in the big 10 speaks volumes to me.
And again, you still had talent on roster even tho you had new starters. The real test will be next 10 years.
You guys really had very little attrition from 2011 going into 2012 which is why you didn't have a lot of drop off. That is a credit to BOB for keeping their morale high and trying to keep all of them from transferring out like Silas did. The 2013 season is when the scholarship reductions and sanctions as a whole will start to take a toll on your program. PSU will start finding itself short on upperclassmen with the size / skill to compete at this level due to reduced scholarships, and the fact that PSU will have a tougher time recruiting top-ranked players due to the post-season bans, and said scholarship reductions. You'll find a few here and there like Hackenberg (sp?) and Breneman who are life-long PSU fans who will still come there no matter what, but it will be tough to win much without solid players around them. Try not to get your hopes up. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.
That's not true at all. We lost a ton from the 2011 team. Including guys who graduated or left for the NFL and the transfers, we lost...
A semi-starting QB
#1 & 2 RBs
#1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 WRs
#1 and 2 TEs
4 of the 5 starting OL
Both starting DEs
Our 3 tech DT (and best player last year)
#4 and 5 LBs
Both starting CBs
Both starting safeties
I'm not sure where you got this "very little attrition" stuff from.
mmmk. I think you'll be in for an unpleasant surprise in 2013, but maybe BOB will manage to outscheme more teams than I am anticipating.
I'm not sure what this jive turkeys point is. Sounds like he is saying his players sucked but bob is the best coach in the world because he got them to 8-4.
If that's the case, this is the wrong thread. I am sure there is a thread on the psu site about how happy you are that bob is there and how lucky u are that Meyer is not there because he is the devil.

I'm not saying that at all. There was this belief that PSU returned all this talent from the previous squad and that is why we were successful. While there is undoubtedly talent, there was very, very little experience and even less depth. To go 8-4 under those circumstances is remarkable. It bodes well for the future.
Just as you are happy with Meyer, we are happy with BOB. Honestly, I don't think Meyer would have stuck around to see us through this. But who knows.. that is JMO.
Bzzzzz, wrong , thanks for playing. That'd be the problem. U think because you had a half way successful year this year that bodes well for future. Your sanctions will kick in and that will not be the case. I am not sure how many mautis or browns or hills you will reel in during these next few yrs. you can say no one was left behind but thats simply not true. Keep telling yourself tho, I would be doing the same if I were u. U have the 34th ranked class according to rivals. If that makes u optimistic, more power to you. Add to that the lack of depth u will have-I just don't see it.
Why are you using Rivals rankings and not 247? Or, better yet, why not the composite that takes all four sites into account? We are top 25.
We had 67 scholarship players last year. That alone shows that being limited to 65 scholarship players doesn't mean that you will be a sub-.500 team.
And just to be clear, I'm not saying that we will beat everyone down or anything like that, I am merely saying that it looks like we will be able to be competitive. Not a dumpster fire like many predicted (and understandably so).
