Does Trassell get a statue? What about Urban.

  • Hey ya'll long time reader, first time poster. My buddies and I are out at the pub celebrating my first vday post divorce and entered the following debate. Does Jim Trassell eventually get a statue too? He was a helluva coach. I bet Urban gets one but he will need more than just 1 year to measure up to woody. Your thoughts are appreciated thanks for your time! Love this board

  • No, Tressel will not get one. Statues are reserved not only for winners; but for men of unimpeachable integrity.

    If Urban wins a few NC's, and stays for a long period of time, and doesn't run us afoul of the law in the process he will.

    Tressel absolutely gets a statue! The man did far more good here than wrong. Those on here who keep bitching about him have just as many skeletons.

    If I ever had the authority to put a statue up I would and would volunteer to give the unveiling speech. That speech would include a line that says fuck those who oppose this.

    True story:

    Freshman year in the dorms in winter quarter ....we'll just call him Bill....this was 25 years ago....

    Bill returned to the room with an astonished look on his face and said he thought the building should call a plumber because his turd was so big it wouldn't fit down the ......what's the word for the opening where all the $hit goes out?.....

    .....anyway.....his turd wouldn't fit. Out of curiosity we all investigated and to our astonishment....not only wouldn't it fit down the hole (not lying....if you could measure it's circumference it had to at least be 12+ inches.....diameter?....at least 5 1/2 to 6 inches....I don't know...I'm not a mathematician .....it was damn big put it that way! At the very least it was about 15 inches long.....

    About an hour after this incident as word quickly spread....people were coming from all over to check this thing out. People were taking pictures of Bill next to his prize turd which he had just recently birthed.....it was crazy.

    Even girls were coming from the girls dorm to check it out....truly one of the funniest and craziest things I'd ever seen....

    For the record I'm not Bill although I'd be willing to lie and say I was....I'm 6'3" and back at that time I weighed 255lbs. Bill on the other hand was around 5'10" and weighed about a buck 50 and that's if he was wet!

    Amazingly.....Bill was not hospitalized after his amazing feat.

    I swear to you guys....an absolute true story.
