Fickell Stock just plummeted!

  • Sell! Sell! Sell! Its crashing! NNo way can anyone want him back. Once again he gave up. No time out again? He was completely out of this game IMO

  • impossible, it couldn't go any lower in my eyes.

  • Why can't we post the job opening now so we can anounce Meyer aftet the Michigan game? Give him a weeks head start.

He was not coming back as coach that was a given. The real question is do you want him back as a Defense Coordinator? I say no. Move on with a new staff. The only guy I would retain is Stan Drayton

  • I really dont want him back to coach the D, we have too many athletes on this team to play zone all game. Enough is enough.

  • Fickell stock has been at rock bottom since the Indiana game... Fickell should not be retained for any coaching position!

I dont want Drayton back if he dosent know how to teach the wideouts to block downfield.

  • Announce the new coach Now and Im pretty much sold on the new DC as well. Hasnt been the same since Dantonio , Snyder and Tucker in 2002!

Meyer has a big dilemma now. A lot of the rumors are saying that part of the plan is for Fickell to stay since he has so many supporters with the admin. I honestly do not see Urban hiring Fickell as the DC after the subpar performances our D has been delivering.

Fickell has been outcoached for a majority of the games this entire season. Prove me wrong Fickell apologists. At least one thing is always consistent about this team is that J.D. Shugarts always gets a false start penalty every single game. If he wouldn't have had the false start then Miller would have gotten the first down on the last OSU drive. It would have been fourth and 5 instead of 4th and 10.

  • Why would you want Drayton back, he hasn't done any more then any of the other coaches and dont say because he has Florida ties. We will be able to recruit Florida just as well without him.

Exactly. We need the new coach in place to coach the bowl practices.

  • Lol. The funny thing is some of you guys wanted to turn the program over to that Guy and were really arguing for it.

    Amazing.

The Purdue loss wasn't enough for you? It was for most of Buckeye Nation.

I think this is horrible financial advice!!! You already lost your ass if you are still holding this stock.

No, it will never happen. I've never seen it happen. It doesn't really make any sense to do it this way. Meyer doesn't know the system, or the players. The coaches will finish out the season. Then it's good riddance!

    foolishpride

  • The stock for HC was already bankrupt. I concur with those who want new blood on defense. THEY'VE MISJUDGED TALENT & SCHEME!

I fear he'll be kept on defensive staff. How about moving him to full time recruiting coordinator? That's the only upside I see to keeping him around.

Pretty good idea to me. None of the offensive coaches are to be retained, even if Fickell were to be around as the HC (which won't happen). I honestly don't know enough about Drayton to retain him, unless the new HC wants him. Seriously, our WRs aren't to impressive. Many, many drops.

I could see Haynes and/or Johnson being retained only for continuities sake and they have done a pretty good job with the corners and safeties (although I can't stand Travis Howard).

I was on the Fickell band wagon up until Purdue. Then it was like someone hit me in the forehead (kinda like the old V-8 commercials) and said 'come on man.' I figured if he could lead this team and get wins with a bunch of bumbling idiiots on the offensive side of the ball, he would probably do a good job as the full time HC. But this team hasn't improved the last few weeks and glaring weaknesses of the team early in the season, are still weaknesses. That's telling me the staff needs to go. But It's kind of a formality at this point that these coaches are in their lame duck sessions at tOSU.

Their' arguments made just as much sense as Dimitrius arguing Bauserman should've started early in the season based on experience...Exactly NONE!

I admit I myself was for giving him a chance but I started to see the light a few weeks ago. Its looking really bad right now and we cannot let it get any lower for this program or even him. Time to move on and I recommend the Urban Futures!

I look at the season as a whole and can think of numerous big mistakes this staff has made that were so obvious to anyone that could've been prevented. When i hear fans of other teams saying "They should keep Fickell, he's done a good job" then i know the writings on the wall cause their' main wish is that we stay in a position to where we have no chance to succeed

  • But guys.........we have to evaluate Luke's entire body of work instead of just one...LMFAO. I can't even finish that with a straight face. After the Wisconsin game, I told the Luke supporters to step back, take a deep breath, and actually look at the problems this team had, as they were many. This team, all season long, just hasn't looked prepared for ANY of its games, except for maybe the first half of the Nebraska game. And Akron, but that hardly counts. Luke is done. No more excuses, Luke supporters (if there are any even left on here or brave enough to show their faces). And you can't blame this all on the offense, because the defense is every bit as bad. So, I guess what I'm saying is...I have evaluated Luke's entire body of work. It speaks for itself. Next!
