Speaking of TY, I know he is not a freshman, but I thought I heard Urban on the press conference state that TY was off the team? is this correct?

While we can debate for days on whether weed should be legal or not, it is currently still illegal and these kids all sign an agreement at the beginning of the season stating that they will obstain from taking any banned substance notated by the NCAA. If Urban was notified about something from faculty, staff, etc and tried to hide something he knew about then he would be endangering and entire program because of one selfish player. I am not sure what type of penalty we would even receive for something small like that, but we are under probation and that modifies things a little bit. Aside from any NCAA concerns, Urban needs to establish discipline on this team and if his team knows that Urban knows something and Urban does nothing, what message does that send to the players and the Buckeye Football family? With Urban testing only the Freshman that tells me that it is something that he has done in the past or that he was notified of something as it would be odd to just randomly test one class.I am not trying to be a prude but this situation, at least if Urban was notified or knew something, is above just a player smoking weed.

im going to guess that this was nothing more than some stupid internet forum rumor. if it was anyone important we would know about it, that's really about it

I agree. The one thing, though, that gives me cause for pause is Ty Williams was just kicked off the team. Urban said it was for a violation of team rules and, "I am very disappointed in Tyrone." That suggests it wasn't something that necessarily falls under the category of criminal activity, such as shoplifting or stealing another student's computer, but rather something that's counter-productive to being a member in good standing and a contributor to the betterment of the team, behavior that weakens the team and makes the player expendable.

So it makes me wonder then if Ty got high, got busted, got kicked off the team and somehow it came out--whether by rumor or by Ty trying to take guys down with him--that he didn't get high alone; smoking weed is often (though certainly not always) a "communal" activity where a joint is passed around.

I can't help but wonder if maybe Ty's dismissal and this rumor might somehow be connected?

Good point. Im on minimal sleep and a couple adult beverages. I thought it looked funky. Either way, the punishment for Marijuana in the legal system needs to be stiffer, or legalize the damn sh!t. Its so damn stupid. Im just waiting for a player in California or another state where its legal to get popped, but have a medicinal card. SO DUMB!!!!!!!!! I would like to see the testers get tested................

I have kids the same age and I'm sick of hearing that this shit should be legalized. Well, it's fucking not. Get the hell over it and get off the shit. Damn, it's time to grow up.

Welp, since we all don't know much about this as of yet, i'll chime in with my, completely opinion based, ideas.
1. I'm sorry, but you are getting one hell of an opportunity in life and if weed is that important, then you don't deserve it. Open up a spot for someone else.
2. I honestly hope this is how things are being handled. The last thing we need is for some pot-head football playing stud to get caught, just to get the NCAA involved to investigate whether it has been covered up or whatever. Second, I hope this is part of UFM's deal with not putting up with the crap that eventually made him quit at Florida. That program was a dumpster fire with arrests. And I believe that's what made him leave. Hopefully this is something that is put in place to prevent that. JMO.

could be. if it's that one players first time though he's not getting kicked off the team. now if it's his multiple violation for some reason or another sure. i dont get why people on these boards make a big deal about weed around here. ive said and have taken 100's of dv's for it, i bet 75% of the ohio state football team smokes weed. these guys in the end are 18-22 year olds. not the best decision making time of anyones lives.

It also indicated or hinted they knew how it was but didn't want to say.. so if true I guess will know soon enough
