I was going to post in this thread something about how PSU fans will rationalize this de-committment, but didn't mostly because anyone could have guessed that. BUT I can't help myself here by posting one response from the PSU board on Webb leaving for UNC. Here it is. I am utterly speechless...LMAO. OK. I am having a problem internalizing PSU situation, but I'll keep my opinions mostly to myself.
"UNC faces a much more worrisome NCAA issue than we do. This is their second NCAA major infractions issue in like, 2 or 3 years. If the academic fraud thing is in fact the truth, they're going to get some fairly severe punishements. Easily worse than USC, who at the time wasn't on probation.
Our issue, while is an NCAA issue, is mostly an image issue. We're going to self-impose, because there's nothing there for the NCAA to hit us with, and because of that it's more than likely bowl ban plus fines. I don't even know if the NCAA can put us on probation. I'm guessing that's what Bill O'Brien is telling kids, and TOS said that Webb had informed our staff that he was visiting - so he did talk to them.
Kids aren't shying away from us because of sanctions, IMO, they're doing it because of what we're associated with, and what our image is right now."

I've been to their board several times recently and I'm truly amazed by their comments:
- ESPN and the media is out to get them...
- The Freeh Report is nothing but opinion...full of inn-acurracies and the document is nothing but garbage...
- There's no proof JoePa did anything wrong...There was a thread that if the NCAA hits them with the death penalty that PSU should sue the NCAA ! LOL...
