  • well we did just go 6-7 and are changing coaching staffs. I know we just got arguably one of the best coaches in CF but we are switching our offense around and it is not out of the question to experience some growing pains.

    Agreed 100%! Add to that all the thumpings they took in BCS games, but none of the media hate OSU received. A complete head scratcher there!

  • the usa today poll is the coaches poll. ohio state is ineligible to be in the coaches poll this season so it makes sense we wouldnt be up there

    The "Top 25 ranking" is the VERY least of tOSU's worries right now and for the
    season. Much, much more to be concerned about.

    Just win baby, win and this will take care of itself.

    The Bucks have got to reclaim their throne on the field of battle. Not
    through the limp wrist sports writers that are going to spend 80% of their time writing bullshit articles and doubting the team/ coach anyway.

    The sooner we collectively understand this the better the 2013 season will be.

  • Where a team starts out does have a bearing, at times, on where they CAN end up. Example: if you are listed number 3 and win them all the lowest you will be is 3.

    You can be listed less than twenty five, win them all, and end up only being in the top 8.

    For me, THIS YEAR, I want the highest ranking possible to start the season, win them all, be the only team to do so, and have a massive argument as to who is number one since OSU can't be.

    Quite frankly, I'D LOVE THAT TO HAPPEN!!!!

    I completely agree. We(Ohio State) have gotten nonstop sh*t for supposedly being so bad in the BCS but in reality we're 6-3 in BCS games(i still count Arkansas) playing against tougher matchups and most of the time closer to the other team's region. Oklahoma is abysmal in BCS games, they're an equal opportunity loser cause they lose to alot of different teams in the BCS games. It took a horrific UCONN team to get in for them to get off the BCS losing streak. Only team i can think of that's worst than them that gets in alot of good bowls is Virginia Tech...the all-time most overrated program in history

  • That proves how dumb college football fans are. People ake up so much shit when they are talking about a team they hate. A team they haven't actually watched play that much outside of ESPN highlights. And those ESPN highlights are put together in a way to give people a certain perception. If your not aware of this, then your blind. You are a blind fan. ESPN is to blame for a lot of the reasons why people hate certain teams in every sport. The media will always have favorites, and they know how to manipulate people to like the teams they like. It is so obvious.

  • We will never be ranked in the USA Today this year. It is the coaches' poll, which excludes teams on probation. Last year, USC finished 6th in the AP but was not ranked by USA Today.

    All I care about is who we play, where they are ranked before we play them and where they're ranked after we beat them. That's called playing spoiler. It's also extra motivation.

    We will be judged not by the company we keep but by the teams we beat.

    I'll gladly take 12-0 with an asterisk, ala Roger Maris's 61*.

    Man, you need to put your crack pipe down. Chokelahoma has received nowhere near the bad press OSU received after losing those 2 NC games. I'm not even talking about the tattoo scandal. How many articles were written about OU should never be invited back to a NC game? How about how slow & plodding OU is? None! Ripped apart? Hardly!

    Look at all the big time programs....and think of the ones you hate.

    We hate them for a reason.....and historically those are pretty good ball clubs. Oklahoma has won it's fair share of big time games...sure maybe they've under-achieved in the BCS era....but in a way considering the chances we've had....a fan of one of those other big time programs could say the same thing about us.

    Oklahoma was in some pretty classic games in the 80's and 90's. It's a big time popular program....and do I dislike them? You bet your a$$ I do and often find myself muttering under my breath how over-rated I think they are at times.

    But again...what big time college football fan doesn't say that about other big time programs?

    As for the media on a witch hunt against us? Don't care if they are or if they do!! We pack 100,000 + every single Saturday afternoon regardless of whether we're 6-7 or 12-0! I'm damn proud of that and honestly could give a $hit what anyone else thinks....especially some dumba$$ narcissistic reporter/columnist.

    Jim Tressel is 5-3* in BCS bowl games (don't give a $hit ....I'll always count the Sugar Bowl victory against Arkansas...the game was played and we won) and 6-4* bowl record. 1-2 in National title games but if you include his 4 NC at Youngstown that's a 5-2 mark on the big stage! You need to wake up and smell the $hit that you're shovelin' cause that's hardly choking whether you like the man or not. Don't care if you do...but give some credit where it is certainly warranted. Didn't like his offensive philosophy at times but the man could flat out coach.

    Bob "ooops I pooped my pants" Stoops is 3-5 in BCS Bowl games and 7-6 over-all. Doesn't quite stack up to Tressel.

    Yeah VT is a really bad joke. I remember telling my Michigan buddy at work on bowl selection day last year that they were very fortunate to draw VT because they always underachieve in big games. Originally Michigan was projected to play Houston and I told him "you guys don't want to play Houston" -- Houston went out and kicked Penn State's ass. I wish Michigan had had to play them instead of perennial bad joke and underachiever, VT.

  • So many other fan bases fail to realize, that tOSU already knowing what the outcome of their season will be is a gift in a way.

    We already know we cant go to a bowl, or the NC! So people just expect tOSU to be down and not motivated.

    My view is that, them thinking that only makes tOSU the most dangerous, lethal, chuck norris like team in the B10! Go ahead and keep thinking that tOSU DOESNT GET IT!

    I love it and USC proved what can happen when you think that!
