Here is an extended video of Ricquan Southward

  • This kid has some awesome hands if it's near him it's caught, I think he's was a steal.

  • Thanks for the video. If I had to break him down based on that footage, I would say this. He has great hands and adjusts well to the ball while in flight. Great anticipation and vision on the field and should be a good YAC receiver. Weakness clearly appears to be speed to me. Seems to rarely get good separation on the DB and that will only get worse at the next level. His skills look a lot like a Brian Robiskie to me.

I noticed that to but there were some plays he seemed to fly on, guess we'll see when it becomes time to play, the boy sure has great hands and vision.

Parts of this video is obviously sped up. But, the kid is a baller. I love how he gets the ball at the highest point and keeps possession. He also catches with his hands.

  • I have heard this young man could be a sleeper. He plays against a lot better caliber players than a lot of teams.

  • Does anyone know where the qb went...had a wierd throwing motion but threw a good fade route...just wondering...southward looked good too...I wasn't blown away but looked like a solid receiver...good post!

I was wondering the same thing, he dropped some nice passes in but had that Bernie Kosar sidearm throwing style.

Kid looks plenty fast in my book, I seen him run away from several people especially when he was getting the inside trap plays and reverses. I've been on this wagon even when people didn't think much of him. I think the kids explosive, typically with all those touches he got you have to be explosive. I don't think his team was short on talent.

    Let's get it!!!

  • Be Cool 2 - you put that you think this is sped up in some parts? I think the same was said for or about the Jamal Marcus highlight. Would someone tell me what gives the impression on these videos that they're sped up? I really don't see it at all, to me it just looks like he gets the ball in open field on a few turf fields and the kid can move in open space.

I've watched it 3 times, still don't know what he's talking about.
