mir has a tough time with good fighters...

the only people i really consider homers are the clowns who get on here and call you a non-buckeye if you have any kind of criticism. i was called a "fake buckeye" at least 20 times last year. why? cause i said they sucked, and they had every reason to suck. when you lose your coach, qb, top wr, top rb and a first round talent o lineman guess what? not a single team in the country can deal with that. but i was a fake buckeye cause of this

Good point! He tended to post stuff that I said at the tv, my wife, my dog, my neighbor, my house, my truck, etc. I think alot of us got it out of our system. g2bl just went right to posting about it, or did'nt speak it to enough inanimate objects. With that said, believe me after a loss, I MF everyone, including myself.

See I would consider you to be unrealistic. No way would I call you a realist when you say things like:

"Huge fan but our offense sucked" or "I hated winning by a field goal when we had the personnel to put up big numbers" and "I would take the win but hated sitting on pins and needles....."

All those positive things are obscured in your mind by something negative. What you are saying then is that you'd rather lose a game say 55 - 54 because the numbers are much bigger...than win a game by a field goal? That makes no sense...at least to me it doesn't.

Was the offense frustrating at times? Hell yes...but it was pretty damn exciting at other times as well. How short memories seem to be....and football is not basketball where tons and tons of points need to be scored. The challenge of football is getting into the end zone against a great and tough defense and sitting on pins and needles is what makes this game great!

So to you...the realist...the past decade was stupid all because we didn't have as prolific an offense as say who? Oregon? Why? Because you don't like the numbers?

How about these numbers? 106 wins vs. 22 losses. 7 conference championships. 9 - 1 record vs. scUM with 7 of them consecutive. 6 - 4 post season bowl record......3 of which were NC game appearances with a NC.

Yeah...I could see how that decade was stupid. Especially considering that the previous 12 years saw a 3 - 8 bowl record....in which 2 of those 13 years we never even made it to a bowl game....not to mention a 2-10 record against scUM. with just 3 conference titles none of which were outright.

I guess being a realist fan is only being a fan when we are winning.

Im glad Fickell stayed. I think he is a solid coordinator and great recruiter.................He SUCKED as Head Coach.

Hell sometimes these so called fans weren't even happy when we were winning....all they did was complain.

Not to mention all the fu_king hypocrites who chastised our new coach before he even got here....many of them ripped Urban Meyer apart when he was at Florida calling him a cheater, liar and phony especially during the recruitment of Shariff Floyd....now they can't get off his nut sack.

I'm very excited to see what Urban will do here....but just wait....you'll see first hand what happens to him if he struggles a little bit.

I agree he wasn't a very good head coach, but my point is that he was a sacraficial lamb who was thrown under the bus by the unversity and the fans in a pretty crappy way. He screwed up when he was named interim by not naming Miller as the starter and canning Bollman - Fickel was trying to play it safe and wait for the reinforcements to get off suspension. It obviously didn't work out the way he wanted, but they also battled a good number of injuries. He won one but lost a few toss-up type of games and Meyer was pretty much being courted with several games left in the season. There was no reason this couldn't have waited until after the season.

I don't know if Fickell is head coaching material or not, but I think it's unfair to write him off as the circumstances were stacked against him.
