Wow. Cincinnati is far from dying. In fact, the metro area continues to grow. It's home to 9 Fortune 500 companies and the downtown is undergoing a tremendous amount of development. Some guy spouting off a bunch of nonsense has no bearing on the quality of a city.

Even the city of Cincinnati doesn't agree with you. According to the latest censue, the population of the city itself has dropped from over 500,000 to less than 300,000. Doesn't sound like a growing city to me.

You may want to double check the acceptance rate data:

using the mid 50% ACT scores for the 2 schools,

    UC is 22-27

    OSU is 26-30

    OSU is 14% higher

    SAT scores -

    UC
    Math - 510-640
    Reading - 500-620
    Writing - 490-610

    OSU
    Math - 590-700 - OSU is 12% higher
    Reading 540-650 - OSU is 6% higher
    Writing - 540-640 - OSU is 7% higher

    Class rank

UC - 84% in top half, 51% in top quarter

OSU - 98% in top half, 89% in top quarter,

OSU has 14% more in the top half and 38% more in the top quarter

across the board, OSU is a tougher school to get into

If you read my post, I said the "metro area continues to grow". Certainly the city proper has shrunk as suburban sprawl has taken hold. And Cincinnati hasn't aggressively annexed many of the surrounding towns like Columbus has over the years. In fact, the city of Columbus' land area is 2 and a half the size of Cincinnati's (210 sq. miles vs. less than 80). But the Cincinnati MSA grew by about 6% from 2000 to 2010.

    Lot of information in here:

Most of your hillbilly population you count as your metro area resides in Ky! What a joke.

Intelligent comment. It's across the river. Cincinnati is the geographic center. That population in NKy doesn't exist without Cincinnati as the economic hub of the region. Just as the New York MSA contains parts of NJ and CT.

He does a decent job when he interviews people. Other than that, I grew tired of hearing him rant on any subject years ago.

Love the Bugs reference. I thought it interesting that he said " on Friday they will still have to wake up in Columbus and we get to wake up in Cincinnati ".... get to wake up in Cincy???? Hit the snooze button fpor eternity please.

    Yeah, I said it.

Hey guys, just thought i'd post this here so you can check it out and go to his page on facebook and chime in if you want. I've posted on his page before that he hates Ohio State and he'd say that he liked them and Archie Griffin and was just reporting the news, and then he posted this video yesterday. I listen to him for Reds/Bengals coverage but have always thought he was biased against Ohio State, as many UC fans are. Anyway, I just thought i'd post this video, I already replied to it on his facebook page and i'll post the link that too if you guys want to.

Here is the link to his fb page...

    http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Lance-McAlister/49753508564

It's the 2nd video down on the left.

McAlister has a Cincinnati audience and anti-OSU rhetoric plays well in Cincy. They have a great inferiority complex about OSU and the media plays to that. If McAlister were to suddenly get a job in the Columbus media, he would be an OSU homer. That is just the way the media rolls.

    CarpeDiem

  • We all know it. At least every OSU fan. If they are not with us, they're against us. The bias is because people think that OSU schedules cupcake non-conference games, blows through an easy conference, gets a BCS bid, then gets waxed in our bowl game. Thats not our goal, it was to try and keep the money in the state of Ohio (we paid Colorado 3million to come to our house last year) That is why we play Toledo, Akron, BG, Ohio, we don't play Cincy because they don't want to play us, they know they would get stomped, and they used the excuse on the 2013 schedule" Our conference depleting, we only have 8 teams now and we would like to play everyone in our conference. So we rescheduled with Buffalo. That just shows how sorry we think their program is to replace them with a team that we think is equivalent to them. They know they can't compete in sports with us. They had a good run with Isaiah pead (RB)in there (from C-bus) but when he's gone, thats it. I wan't to see them do better b/c they are an Ohio school. "tries to make others look bad to make them look good" Quit talkin bout OSU and worry about UC. FLAT OUT!!!!!!
