"Luckily Ohio State won't face anyone from the SEC..."

  • That was the line uttered by one "College Football Live" reporter on Friday following Desmond Howard's report on the Buckeyes' opening camp.

    The punk reporter used that line to segue into UGA and other SEC programs "who've won the last six national championships."

    "Luckily?" WTF does that mean? Of course I should know it's ESPiN taking potshots at the Buckeye football program as usual knowing damn well that it wouldn't mean a thing if in fact we did have one on our schedule this season. Guess we'll have to take our frustrations over this comment out on UAB since they're the closest to an SEC team that we'll face this season. That is until we get a shot at Vanderbilt next year.

    It wasn't Desmond Howard who said it. He reported on the Buckeyes objectively without any agenda.
    It was the other guy. Not Joe Tessatore but the pipsqueak there. Can't recall his name at this time but I'm sure someone else here will know.

    He's never been objective about OSU. Even Spielman can restrain himself from taking a shot at scUM on a national broadcast. Howard's a clown, that can't articulate himself well enough to be on a national broadcast. He makes Jalen Rose look like a serious journalist.

  • I will love the day when the B1G wipes the SEC smirk of everyones faces, including the ESPiN commentators! It seems they like to take shots at us because through this SEC NC streak that we have been there twice to compete for the crown, and came up short. I dont hear them saying the same things about Oklahoma, Texas, or Oregon. What gives? I dunno, maybe its the fear of what is about to come settling into their brains! I love Ohio and I love my Buckeyes, but I am also a huge supporter of the B1G when in noncon play. Yes, I know what that means and you do too. If we are ever gonna get this SEC monkey off our B1G backs we have to root for Maize and Blue against Alabama. PSU couldnt get it done last year, but this is a great opportunity for our conference to strike first and start to win back our pride, our name and our dominance! I know some of you wont be able to root for that blue team, and I understand. Some of you might painfully do it for one day, that is great. And some of you carry the B1G pride that just wants every other conference to tremble in fear of our name! Lets root for our conference and beat Bama!! GO BUCKS! and GO B1G!

  • Let me reiterate what I stated earlier: IT WASN'T DESMOND HOWARD WHO SAID THIS.

    Howard, regardless of how you feel about him, was objective in reporting on Buckeye camp and the depth at running back after Hyde's injury. It was the pipsqueak who's name currently escapes me at this time, who made the snide comment.

    I'd usually go off the top of my head with these stats but it's always good when someone points out the actual stats since the BCS's inception of the B1G's record vs the SEC as you just laid out.

    And clearly what this shows is that the 2010 and 2011 bowl seasons are the only two in which the SEC was clearly dominant. Other than these two, you'd have to go back to the '01-'02 season to find similar results.

    So clearly a lot of this is pure propaganda by the "worldwide leader in sports."

    One of the huge things that stands out to me as well is how bad a decision it was for Minnesota to fire Glen Mason. In 2004, when the Media was all over Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams as being "the best backfield in history", Bama held them to under 100 yards while Maroney and Barber III racked up 300 on them in the bowl game......

  • We should not have dropped Tennessee and Georgia from our future schedule. We need to be playing these teams in the regular season to prepare for potential bowl games.
