Mature, High Quality Recruits Under Meyer?

  • I have been noticing that most of UFM's top verbals have not indulged in the announcement ceremonies that seem to be required nowadays. I may not have been paying attention, but I don't recall too many of them even having the staged "hat" choice celebration and press conference to announce where they will be taking their talents. It seems to me that UFM's recruits are light years ahead of the "me" generation recruits who think it's all about them. They have been simply contacting Meyer and staff, then the media - with no fanfare - just class. And wasn't it Bosa who contacted all the other schools before announcing?

    But I've been wrong before.

  • It seems to me that most of the hat ceremonies come at the post-season all-star games or staged announcements like Diggs. I haven't really been watching what kids committing to other schools have been doing this spring...have they been just as low key as our guys or are they making big productions out of it?

    You may be right. I was just noticing how un-prima donna they have been. Although Dodson tore it up with his announcement, it was still funny.
    Hopefully we'll have all of ours in the bag by the time all the press conferences begin next December or so. And especially by the All-Star games.
