  • OP- are you serious? You're saying these guys might "be done" for urinating in public? Please don't ever post on here again. This is a total non-issue.

They're guilty of public intoxication, indecency and obstruction of justice because they ran away and hid. Getting drunk resulted in all the other offenses. They'll plead stupidity--two oversized dumbasses with full bladders whipping out their wieners to piss on the side of a building. Yawn. Not excusing it but it's a victimless crime. No one was hurt. No property was damaged. No one was driving. I doubt they're the first people to pee near the Bogey Inn or even on a tree on the Muirfield Village Golf Course.

Assuming it's their first offense and they are of legal drinking age, they'll pay a fine, do some community service and be put on probation. Urban will add insult to their injuries by taking away their starting positions, forcing them to work their way back up the depth chart, which won't be as difficult as it will be embarrassing, and make them meet with Mariotti or John Simon for early a.m. workouts.

+ 1 I agree with everything you said. I am sure ESPIN will make these kids look like Hitler's SS guard or something. Cryami guys were one hundred times worse than what these kids did at Muirfield.

  • The kids were stupid for running but kicking them off the team for this is outrageous. Unless of course there is more to the story, like drugs or tats. Sorry, couldnt resist...

Incidentally, how many times was Floyd arrested for DUI?

I might have missed it but I didn't see where they were arrested for intoxication (although I believe they probably were).frustrated

I also haven't seen where they were charged for public urination or disorderly conduct, but everyone seems to think it is no big deal since they were just pissing outside, when in fact it is the running from the police that is the big issue. Don't expect these charges to be dropped either, IMO.

Miguel, I agree that all this is stupid and pales in comparison to things like Floyd and DUIs. But just keep one thing in mind when making comparisons.....our program is on probation, we are pegged as an org that cannot control our kids and Meyer has promised to put an end to it and has said he will not stand for foolish crap.

If we were not under the microscope and Meyer had not put it out there that there would be no tolerance, this would be over already. But with all that is going on we will need to see what happens. I believe they have already been suspended indefinitely so let's see what's next.

Watch how the haters will try to spin this as something bigger than it really is. Everyone's found a spot to pee out in the public somewhere. Complete non story as usual

    Agree..

Unfortunately they ran when confronted by the police...and that's why they are in trouble.

Had they stood their ground and faced the music they would have been issued a citation.

    Story ends there.

    Instead they opted to run....ooops!

The sarcasm was lost on me too OSU>UM.

I don't understand that one gets arrested for urinating in public. I can understand a ticket or fine but arrested?

Sounds like extra push ups and more PR work for the AD.

They were arrested because they ran....hence the obstruction charge.

Had they just faced the police then they would have been issued a citation.

The thing is, in certain circumstances they have discretion, of which they tossed out the door on this one.

I'm sure at first they had no clue who these guys were....then they took off and ran.

If you're a cop...any number of things could cause someone to run away....for example: warrants, drugs, thefts, etc. etc....

The cops aren't going to know this until they investigate and when a person runs they have only to believe their suspicions.
