    Like I said I'm really struggling with this. As much as I hate the SEC I do respect Bama. I just get sick of the SEC crap but I really don't want Michigan to be the one to shut them up. Ugh!!! I'm confused!!!! I have in my life rooted for Michigan once( Penn St in '05, it helped us)

    Not sure what's there's to be confused about...shrug

    I have and will always hate Michigan way more than any SEC school, so for me its
    simple. Sticking with my traditional biases and Ohio roots to thumb my nose at those
    asses from up North!

    I am on record here as saying that I will NEVER root for Michigan under any circumstances. Your entire argument is a fallacy and based on a false premise.

    No self-respecting individual that likes to call him or herself a "Buckeye Fan" would ever root for Michigan. It's like being a Yankees fan and a Red Sox fan all at the same time! That shit just can't happen in my universe.

    I am born and raised in S&G and I can't think of any circumstances other than when Bo died that I would even raise an eyebrow towards Michigan.

    I am hoping that they get run by +40 on Saturday and I am okay in waiting for the sweet day when the Buckeyes return the conference to prominence. Therefore, I have chosen to wait it out and deal with the so called "negative consequences" associated with the conference. Not willing to sacrifice my morals for some bullshit argument that benefits the conference or makes the females in the community feel good about the Big 10.

    No Michigan for me, under any circumstances. That's the way that I was born, that's the way that I live and that's the way that I am going to die!!

    so even if a ttun win would enhance the buckeyes' chances of playing for the national championship, you still wouldn't root for them?

    hypothetical situation: next year, ohio state and notre dame both go undefeated. common opponents include ttun and purdue. but by virtue of what they deem a tougher overall schedule--usc, oklahoma, michigan state, pitt, byu and stanford--the bcs computers select notre dame over osu, which plays ooc games against vandy, florida a&m, cal and buffalo. tell me at that point you won't be dog cussin' ttun and purdue for not beating notre dame and wishing you could find a way to go back in time and abort those losses?

    before anyone misses the point, this isn't for people to rant and rave that "notre dame will never go undefeated." it's hypothetical. ultimately, though, this is about ohio state controlling what it can, which is its own destiny, its own fate, and it can only do that by beating the teams it plays. we cannot control what happens in our opponents' other games but in my opinion, a true ohio state fan would want a) ohio to go undefeated, and b) ohio state's opponents to win their ooc games to help strengthen our sos rating and enhance our chances of making the cut to play in the ncg.

    that said, i will be cheering for alabama, largely because ohio state's on probation and ineligible for post-season play, which makes this a "write off" year. i want alabama to stifle ttun's arrogance and put them in their place. but should ttun win, i hope we're both 11-0 when they come to the shoe on 11/24. nothing would give me greater satisfaction than playing spoiler and vaporizing their nc aspirations.

    It may just be me, but the words "Win" and "*ichigan" should never be written next to each other in a sentence.
    Hypothetically, If for some reason I wanted *ichigan not to lose, I'm not sure I could even write it down.

    One thing, fans in AA did treat the weasels to a nice pep rally before the team left for Dallas...

  • For anyone who wants Michigan to win, think about what you're saying. Do you really WANT to stick your chest out and say, "Look what Michigan did" until November? I know we had a rough season last year but have we really fallen to the point of riding scUM's coattails? And Michigan winning wouldn't restore respectability to the conference. It restores respectability to Michigan. Do you really want to hear the media slob Michigan all season? Really? They're going to do that with Bama regardless of what happens. I'm going with the lesser of the evils here. Roll Tide.

    Is it better for us to beat a top 5 michigan team than a 30th ranked MI team? Of course! Problem is, we will not beat a top 5 Michigan team 9 out of 10 times. So give me a shitty MI team, let me dominate them and I will take my chances that I will make it to the top 4 and have a chance to win a title.

    The very thought of it makes me ill. Maybe it's different because I was born and raised and live in Ohio.

    I'd rather a northern team excel, ESP when OSU gets a crack at them later in the year.

    I support the conference and region, never some southern team.

    Muck Fichigan! Hell, I want the OSU student body to print some bumper stickers again about "Remember Ann Arbor". I want the Tide to knock out Michigan and beat them by two TDs but I want the Buckeyes to destroy Michigan by 50 points. Urban and the Buckeyes need to "UNLEASH HELL ON THE WOLVERINES." Urban needs to run up the score and the final play of the game. I want the Buckeyes to have the ball and after they score their touchdown and put two points on the board just to embarrass Jabba the Hoke and Missagain. I want Jabba the Hoke will and his Missagain boys broken! During the post game shake, Urban needs to quote Woody Hayes here to Jabba the Hoke. "That will take care of you, you son of a bitch."
    I want Simon. Big Hank or anyone on the defensive side of the ball to pummel Robinson then do that stupid hungry gesture right over his body as he is lying on Buckeye turf just like they did last season to us. I'll take the fifteen yard penalty if the Buckeyes have a huge lead. Paybacks are a bitch Missagain.
