More than poor coaching

  • I would say that the starting 5 offensive lineman for Ohio State will not all play in the NFL. I would be surprised if Shugarts made an NFL roster. I think Brewster and Adams for sure will make NFL rosters and play in the league.

Too early for me to make a guess about Braxton Miller playing in the NFL. I agree with the rest of who you said playing on Sundays except for Sweat. I don't think he's an NFL linebacker.

I can't remember Dorian Bell doing anything special other than being a very highly touted recruit.

There are many on this board that keeping believing OSU is stocked with great talent. These players just are NOT that good. Despite high recruiting rankings the talent on this team is mediocre. The last 2 games against Indiana and Purdue has shown a serious lack of speed- everywhere.

Shazier is the best LB with good speed. Klein, Moeller, Sweat are slow slugs. Sabino is a rush DE playing out of position. Except for Roby the DBs are average. The WRs are MAC level. The OL is still a bunch of slow slugs. Honestly how many of these players would play at LSU,Bama, etc. Maybe 6 or 7. The talent isn't there. Herron and Hall are decent but have no breakaway speed.

We agree to disagree. Although this team may NOT have the talent many suggest....Ohio St is still has MORE TALENT on its roster then ANYONE ON THEIR schedule.

So with that said....it is coaching. The coaching this year has been worse then any year I can remember.

We have the MOST talent in the B1G! Under coached but still the Most talent as a team. With this coaching staff you need a team of superstars. Its only a close game or a win because this teams talent takes over. Today just wasnt enough.

Isn't that like being the smartest kid in special ed? The B1G is terrible. Probably won't win more than one or two bowls (wouldn't be surprised if no wins). Besides, Wisky and MSU are more talented.

It's always been my thought that a coach sets up a game plan to give his players a chance to win, then the players execute that plan to the best of their ability. Our game plans suck, both sides of the ball and our players have not played up to their potential, although like Bri said, it's tough to compete with 7 - 8 in the box and when you give a college QB , even a poor one, time in the pocket, most will complete the pass. It's been a funky year and I think it shows by the players efforts, and you can tell that some of the coaches have left the building,

  • If we had TP and all the players werent suspended we would be playing for the NC thats the reality with the same coaches. With any coaches we would have done that.LOLWith me as HC.

These players are too young and full of talent we are what we are why would anyone thicnk we would be more than 7/5 with what has happened about 90% people pridicted that.

Wow where would we be without TP and Braxton the last 4 years. We have been lucky.
Where would Mack Brown be without McCoy well we have seen that.Where would Meyer have been without Leek and Tebow. We saw that also last year not to good was it.
Where was Stanford when Andrew Luck was a frosh what was their record? Not to good.

You either run the Alburn,Nebraska,Mich gimmick offense and risk hurting the QB or you suck on offense.

  • If you think Norwell and Mewhort wont play in the NFL thats your opinion but I think they will as will Shugarts.
What team other than OSU has 5 better starting oline? Not LSU and Alabama its not even close.
Not Wisconsin as they couldnt even handle our young DL
If Donald Washington can play in the NFL then Howard will be great there.
Sweat will play he has speed size and smarts different game at that level its not the spread there its in your face
    and he can handle that.

  • If TP and the others were back this year we would be in the NC game with these players and coaches

Christ, I'd rather see Norwell and Mewhort both play ahead of JB (now).

Sweat....if Bobby Carpenter can start, well.....
