OSU Secondary Ranked #1 in B1G

    The season hasn't even started yet and you are throwing out salt. What gives?

    Read the title. It says: "The best in the B1G." Not the freakin' best in history. Not to mention these guys are young and starting to grow into their own.

    If my memory serves me correctly from 2011, the secondary wasn't the problem with the team. Most of the issues were on the offensive side of the ball, so there's really no reason to criticize these dudes IMO.

    What say you? And by the way, what's up Chad money? Prolly should've started here, but its never too late to give a shout out.

    I've turned into a Bucknuts addict, so i tried to seek therapy and
    put this thing on hold for a bit. I guess I failed??? shrug

    What's up my man? How the hell are you?
    Man, I am dying for football! Can't wait to see the next squad/ scheme
    and start wrecking the B10 via the................"POWER SPREAD!!"

    Sounds a bit like a fat girl with here legs wide open, huh?

    ready for summer football camp with my little squad here in the DC area.
    ~3.5 weeks to go and we're back on the field for another campaign!!

    1. Ohio State – All four starters are back for what should be one of the best secondaries in the nation. Cornerback Bradley Roby was a freshman sensation in 2011. His next stop: stardom. Travis Howard forms the other half of this strong corner tandem. Christian Bryant (strong) and C.J. Barnett (free) are a stout duo at safety. Barnett is one of best safeties in the Big Ten. In fact, he may be the top safety, flashing instincts, tackling ability and coverage skills.

    I hope your prediction/belief will come true over the course of the next two seasons. However, if I'm basing it off of last season, then the strength of this secondary lies with the two corners.

    Barnett's best games were against MSU on that end-zone saving INT and against Wisconsin. I think he took a step back from where he was as a Freshman in 2010 prior to his season-ending injury. Let's hope he can return to that form this coming season. Bryant knows how to deliver the knockout hit and has shown leadership ability, however, is he a SS or a FS? Additionally he needs to improve on his coverage skills as well.

    I guess I have just been too spoiled over the years. I want to see more out of them. This is tOSU we are talking about, we should be ranked 1 or 2 in every B1G category, every year. Im not down on them, but my jury is still out. I think we were young and under coached across the board last year. Im expecting everyone to look much better.................

  • Expect more hitting and int's from our secondary this year. Theyre playing the exact opposite of what theyve been playing in the past. The players and Coombs have said as much in several interviews. i dont see a more talented secondary in the B1G

    If our secondary is #1 in the B1G, what will our defensive line be ranked? I say our LB's are the weakest of all 3 lines. But I am still worried about the safety position.

    I agree about Bryant. I watched the replay of the Nebraska game on B1G Network yesterday and seen the play where Rex Burkekead caught one out of the back field, Bryant thought he was gonna lay the wood but Burkehead side stepped and made Bryant look like he was pretending to be Peter Pan.

  • Lets hope. I want to see these guys be agressive at the line of scrimmage not 15 yards down the field. Hopefully coaching will help too. Last years coaching was a nightmare.
