Scott McMullen is the only person i know of that i played against.

Scotty Mac plunked me in baseball!

Other than him, I can't think of much that came out of the MSL around 2000. I knew a couple walk-ons and a lineman that went to UC then to the league for a few years.

  • Played against Bo Rein in basketball. He was good at that too.

  • OK , probably not many will remember these two. Bob Ferguson and Bob Timberlake. Ferguson was all everything at TOSU as Fullback. Later played for Steelers& Redskins. Timberlake stared as QB at Scum. I was a safety at the Burg and Ferguson was Fullback at Troy,Ohio. He was 6ft,220 and won the state in 100yd dash. No way could ANY HS DB tackle him,one on one. I still have aches from that guy!!

  • Ah, the memories. I played against:

Terry Killens (Cin. Purcell-Marian) - Penn State LB, Super Bowl with the Tenn. Titans, then 49ers, then Seahawks
Jerry Rudzinski (Kettering Alter) - OSU linebacker and captain
Ty Douthard (Cin. LaSalle) - Illinois TB and then a Cincinnati Bengal
Peerless Price (Dayton Meadowdale) - Tennessee WR before playing pro for the Bills, Falcons, and Cowboys

I'm sure there were several others I played against who went on to Div. I programs, but those are the guys off the top of my head. Fun times.

Bob Ferguson was my first Buckeye hero. I was 8 years old when I first saw him play. He played football as it is meant to be played.

Thanks for the reply..I remember I could not bring him down but I would grab onto him and hold on like a wild Bull rider until help got there!! After that Bob would break thru the line and actually look for ME!! Then he would actually try to run over me!! Yeah he was Scary..I was 6ft about 180,NO match for him..

Hook and ladder. Mogadore perfected it, tough to defend.

No one ran the hook and ladder like Warren JFK in the late 80's early 90's

Such a big guy from such a early age. Played against the Big Kat and he knocked me on my ass a few times. Still play football here in Australia and one of the guys I played with here and was a teammate of mine is with Boise State as a punter tho I saw nothing about him this year so not sure what's going on with him.

I graduated from Fremont Ross in 1996, I played with Charles Woodson ('95) and against Damon Moore (Fostoria '94) and Orlando Pace (Sandusky '94).

Played against you guys and Woodson kicked our asses...close to 300 yards rushing. Woodson was a man amonst boys in HS. Played against Moore also. The GLL was pretty good back then.

I played against him the first time I played at Center when I was a Sophmore and Kat was a senior.

My senior year I played against Anthony Munoz' son from Moeller when he was a Sophmore. Lets just say my game was a lot better against him then Kat.

  • I went to elementary school with Mike Collins and that boy was always huge. On a side note, I finally figured out what's wrong with this board- too many people from the Newark area.

    SuperJ

  • I went to Oak Harbor high school and played against Tim Anderson growing up. I was an undersized guard, he state champion heavyweight wrestler who our team referred to as "the Lumberjack." It was I quit playing football early in high school, in part because lining up against guys twice my size was not fun. My block of choice was definitely the chop block. Dive at his knees and hope he tripped over me. I'm guessing he was also glad guys like me quit playing football.

    drmiller166

  • Played for Huron, Brandon Schnitker played for Perkins...Blew up the wedge I was apart of which sent me to the sidelines for the rest of the game with a nice concussion. Also Ben Mauk in the Regional Finals in 2001. Big bastard. Ran alot better than people gave him credit for

Jerry Mapes was the running back for that McComb 1983 State Championship. I think the state final ended up 7-0 in favor of McComb. We played that McComb team and they were lights out. Funny how most of the star players on good teams in my area never even went to college even though they were offered schollies. Some were offered by small schools but still, a free ride to college and not go? Silly.

Depends on what you want to do. I won a state championship, but only a few of us ended up playing football in college. Personally speaking, I love the game of football, but I love science more, and to be a top level scientist, you can't really spend your summers working on football all the time.
