That Chinese swimmer has been separated from her family since she was very young and sent to a development camp for gifted athletes. Practicing day and night for this moment, there is much at stake for her and her family if she bombs out. That is why Chinese athletes are achievers. This is ALL they do once they are selected for development.

If it's doping it is going on at the high school level. Jamaican high schools dominate the Penn Relay sprints every year - it isn't even close. Their HS National Championships would rival a college conference championship. However, the Jamaican runners competing internationally are even more dominant. Bolt reminds me of Bonds, Sosa, and McGuire when physically comparing him to his peers. I hope it is just genetics and training. After all, it is their national sport.

The thread starter and his supporters comment smacks of native bias. You believe the Jamaicans are doping because they are too fast!! Wow. I guess world records aren't meant to be broken and if so only by Americans. Do you know anything of the lengthy history of Jamaican sprinting? Do you know how many Jamaican born sprinters have won the Olympic 100 meters? Do you know how often Usain Bolt is tested and for that matter the rest of the Jamaican team? I highly doubt it. As an initial poster said Jamaicans breathe track and field. It is in our cultural DNA. Similar to football in Ohio but more extreme. This is one of the proudest moments in my country's history and you want to sully it with unproven accusations. If you had done your research you would have discovered that Usain Bolt has been a dominant sprinter since the age or 13. In fact he is the greatest junior sprinter who ever lived. If he has been using steroids he has been using it since his then. How ridiculous. Unlike another commentator's high school Jamaica doesn't have a history of steroids use in high school. Weed is another story:-) Now if you want to discuss documented history of drug cheats in America I am ready to listen. Your statement is similar to saying our Buckeyes are cheaters because they are so dominant! No, it is called an elite program. Go Buckeyes!!!!!
