OT: Just watched The Grey

  • I rented it because I thought it would be about the Buckeyes..............It was'nt, but I thought it was a sweet movie. Put it on your rent lists. I cant say that about too many movies anymore. I would say there is maybe one a month that is worth the rent. Liam Neeson is a pretty darn good actor. Up next The Devil In Me.

Yeah saw that. Loved it. I thought you shortened my second feature of last night, The Devil In Me. It was way better than I thought. Supposedly based on a true story and I researched the site a therossifiles.com last night to see. I didnt look too long, because they had a vid of the Annelise Michelle exorcism on there that scared the everloving piss out of me, and I wanted to sleep without looking over my shoulder. LOL

Just got done watching The Grey and yes...pretty good flick. Maybe I'll check out The Devil Inside Me ! I'm a horror movie buff ! If you enjoy horror movies as well...another good one that's not well known is WOLF CREEK ! It's loosely based on the true story of this Aussie who in the outback kidnapped and murdered numerous hikers ! It is so realistic in that it seems someone was hiding behind a tree and filming the events as they happened. The remake of LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT is very good as well...

  • Anyone see The Tree of Life? I've seen it twice now and I still can't quite decide if it is one of the most thought provoking movies I've seen, or a steaming pile of garbage. Maybe I'll watch it again....

  • Tree of Life....turned it off, and I love things out there. I have not seen a great movie in a while, yes that includes Avengers. I really liked "Meloncholia." It's has this weird first half of the movie set at a wedding reception in an isolated estate. I did almost walk out, but the second half was so good I would call it approaching great. Talk about thought provoking. It is.

  • Have to agree. Saw the Grey in theaters and was extremely dissapointed. Great story at the start, but bad ending. Still enjoyed the movie though

  • Did you stay through the credits? There is a little blip that tells you what happens. Regardless, the ending couldn't have been better. The entire point of the movie is to keep fighting despite the fact that there is nothing left to fight for. That's a lot better than Liam fighting a bunch of computer generated wolves for 15 minutes. Anyone who thinks the ending sucked, missed the entire meaning of the story.

Right on brother, RIGHT ON!!!! Damn, I didnt watch past the credits. I will never NOT do that again. You would think I would have learned that, after staying to the end of credits for The Avengers, the week before....................If I had to guess, they both take their last breath as he recites the poem.

  • Do you remember early in the movie when he shoots the wolf and then kneels over it as it takes it's last breaths? Pretty much the same thing, only you see him laying on the alpha. It's only like three seconds long.

LOL at this pretentious bullshit. I didn't miss the glaringly obvious point of the movie, it was just a shitty ending. The fact that the ending had a point doesn't make the unresolved story any better. It was a mediocre movie that tried to take artistic slack that it hadn't earned. You don't earn a pass on a bad ending in a movie like that. This isn't Cannes, it's an action movie with no discernible character development or legitimate storyline. They should have had a big action ending because that's the type of movie it was. And without it the movie was incomplete.
