OT; ND QB Rees jailed; LB also

  • SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) Police say Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees is jailed on a preliminary felony charge after his arrest following a confrontation with officers.

St. Joseph County police Sgt. Bill Redman says the 19-year-old Rees was arrested early Thursday on charges of resisting law enforcement, battery to law enforcement, minor consumption and public intoxication.

Redman says city police officers arrested Rees and Notre Dame linebacker Carlo Calabrese and that he didn't know details of the incident or which charge against Rees was a felony.

Calabrese was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct and released on bond.

Redman says Rees of Lake Forest, Ill., is being held without bond until the county prosecutor's office decides on formal charges.

Rees started 12 of 13 games as the Irish went 8-5 last season.

Notre Dame issued a statement following the arrests.

"The University is aware of this incident and is confident that it will be handled in a prompt and professional manner through the criminal justice system," the statement read. "Internal discipline is handled privately, in accord with our own policies and federal law."

Aww schnaps! Kelly about to have an anyeurism and go postal in 3..2..1.

    frustrated

Dude just what kelly needed, another embarrassment for this shitty program.
Man, I have got to believe that there are some in the administration that are asking
themselves whether Kelly belongs on a Norte Shame sideline.

Every few months there is some less than flattering news or incidents about this so called
    "holier than thou" program.

Personally, I love the implosion and will have a BALL watching Kelly self destruct over
the coming year. I hate Norte Dame about as much as I hate Michigan, so this actually is
    great news!!!!!

Yep, which is why I hope they go 1-10. That way both scUM and Norte shame won't have much to
talk about. This will certainly silence all the trolls that come here to talk shit, poke their chest out
and act as if they are relevant.

Yep, cause Heuerman clearly wasn't. no

That kid is going to learn a valuable lesson and the value of humble pie after selecting
one Coach Kelly over Coach Urban Meyer and tOSU.

Too bad for him as the train has left the station. On to the next recruit!

Funny how this ass-clown thinks his oompa-loompa sideline antics will make ND a contender again. Sorry chump, time to pack it up and find a non-BCS team to coach.

  • Sorry to say, but this could be the best news for ND and Coach Kelly. Rees was horrible at QB, and Kelly had to play him. He has Rudolph at QB, which I heard was a better prospect. This works out perfect for Kelly, since he didn't really want this kid, but after this incident, he is defiantely not starting.
