A lot of talk has your Vikes trading out to #5 with the hope of still landing Kalil while fucking my Browns out of Richardson. If that happens, I hope the Browns return the favor and find someone to trade out with who will take Kalil. That would still leave you guys with Claiborne though, or Blackmon, so not bad for your boys.
Personally, I think the Vikes should stand pat and take the LT. A few years back I really, really, really wanted Peterson. Obviously he's been pretty great when healthy. But Thomas was the best pick the Browns have made since they came back, and a building block LT is critical. If your boys are really going to give Ponder a chance, they need a tackle first. They've still got a great RB in Peterson, and have a lot of picks this year to fill some other holes.
In a perfect world, I'd like to see the Vikes take Blackmon. The Kalil drops to us and we've got a chance to entice the Rams up (I truly believe they really want either Blackmon or Kalil). In that scenario, the Browns probably lose out on the opportunity to take Richardson (Bucs seem to really like him), but potentially get another high second round pick.

New mock drafts have Mike Adams in the second round, slipping out of the first. Bengals taking a WR and some sort of lineman. And Browns taking Trent Richardson and either an offensive lineman or QB.
Also, everyone has my vikings taking Morris Claiborne and I would much rather see them trade down. But anyways, talk about the NFL draft here if you like.

I don't disagree with you at all, but there are many reasons I want the Browns to take Richardson anyway. While there have certainly been some major flops at RB, I feel Richardson is pretty safe. He's got good enough hands to get a few receptions per game in a West Coast Offense. He was extremely well coached so I know he can pick up blitzes. He's huge so he's not just going to be chipping guys either, which is huge since we still don't even have a right tackle. I like that he's going to get immediate touches and opportunities to create some offense on his own. Blackmon cannot do that. As a receiver, he depends on the QB , and I don't have the greatest faith in Colt. Plus, the AFC North defenses don't have to respect the run at all, so Blackmon's going to be facing double coverage a lot. Richardson is relative safe and should help improve the offense immediately. So even if 4 is high for an RB, I'd take him.

The Browns gave up their fourth-, fifth- and seventh-round picks (Nos. 118, 139, 211) in this year's draft.
Richardson is a great running back but wow, Giants dead last in running wins a super bowl while the vikings with hall of famer Peterson is picking 3rd in the draft. Its not a running game in the NFL anymore, why in gods name would you give up 3 picks to move up one spot and you take a RB even if it is Richardson, take Blackmon or Kalil both solid picks, ugh. Every year the Browns disappoint me in the draft.

That was some pretty nice maneuvering... get the guy you want (cheaper) and pick up a few extra picks. Fucking Tampa Bay.
I don't mind that trade too much, but Weeden at 22 just set me the fuck off. Dude would still likely be there at 37. Get a Tackle or Receiver. For fucks sake, Reiff is still on the board. Great, you've got a tall, lanky, spread QB with no one to throw to and no RT at all.

I'm not happy with the Weeden pick @ 22, I'm not pissed off though either. We got the 3rd best QB in the draft and we upgraded the position. I do think we could have grabbed him at 37 though, not sure why Holmgren and Heckert got spooked....
No doubt in my mind that Weeden will beat McCoy for the starting job. I have to say that I'm still happy with our draft so far.........at least we didn't trade down this year !
