Ohio State Hard Knocks.

  • ESPN will be doing their version of Hard Knocks with Ohio State and Urban Meyer starting on Aug 14th.

    They will show 4 30 minute episodes and a 1hr final episode.

    Meyer is already using it as a recruiting tool, bringing kids in for unofficial visits while the cameras are currently running. ESPN agreed to do it if OSU and Meyer allowed them for the 1st time unlimited access to all things Ohio State football.

    I always thought it would be interesting to see a college football version of Hard Knocks.

    yes this was talked about the other day. i can't wait.
    some on here won't watch espn, and i don't really watch either; but i'll be tuning into this!

  • I was at the WHC when they started shooting. They have been there for a while. Urban built a very cool wall inside for recruits. They were filming some of that when we walked by. I don't know if it will be on the show or not due to editing and things of that nature. It should be fun to watch

    It's a PR coup. Brilliant move. I see absolutely no downside. It provides great exposure for the program, demonstrates an open book policy, and showcases our facilities, players and coaches. Great way to introduce the staff to OSU fans and recruits. I remember watching Alabama's all access a couple years ago. Saban came across like he was bigger than God, even showed how he's got a button on his desk so that when someone comes into his office, the door automatically shuts behind them, as if they're sealed in with nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

    I'm wondering which assistant(s) the camera's going to fall in love with. My vote: Vrabel and Kerry Coombs. I think Coombs's energy and enthusiasm will be contagious.

    Totally agree! Coombs will be a show stealer, along with Marotti!

    +1. Will not be feeding their ratings. I hope recruits watch it because that's what Urban Meyer's goal is in doing it, but I certainly will not help to make more $$ for the same company who just tried to sue our school and railroad us.
