NCAA lists possible UO violations | Oregon says it is in discussion on a draft that would, if the NCAA agrees, finalize any specific infractions
Improper relationships with scouting services, too many coaches involved in recruiting and a failure by the University of Oregon athletic department to monitor the recruiting practices of the football program are among the potential rules violations included in ongoing discussions between the school and the NCAA, according to documents released Friday. Since September, the NCAA formally has been investigating the Ducks and their use of scouting services to identify prospective recruits. One scouting service operator, Will Lyles, has said he believed the Ducks paid him for “access and influence” with players rather than for scouting information about them, which would violate NCAA guidelines. On Friday, Oregon released two draft versions of the same four-page document titled Proposed Findings of Violations, which was submitted by the NCAA to Oregon and released in heavily redacted form. this is what people fail to realize about this supposed bias be ESPN and other media outlets at OSU. The reason OSU and Tressel's actions received so much visibility is because OSU is as big as you get i the world of college sports. Plus, Tressel sold himself as some moral compass......once news came out that Tressel was not what we portrayed himself to be, it was game on for all the media outlets.
Take it is a badge of honor. The reason we have so many people talking about OSU is because we are relevant and the big dog in college sports.
