PSU BOARD

  • You know what I was thinking? Their boards are just like their football team/university...it's a cult. They lock threads, delete posts that bring any sort of evidence contrary to what they are trying to make themselves believe, ban posters who "offend THEIR posters", yet if you have a 409* next to your name you can offend anyone you want. I used to refer to it like North Korea or China, but I think comparing them to the cult like atmosphere on their campus is more fitting.

*the 409 will either need an asterisk soon or will just be 300 or whatever the number is after vacating the past 14 years. In my mind, Bobby Bowden now owns that record.

  • I'm with ya on the vacated wins. That absolutely should be part of it.

    Razorback

  • As well as Jay Paterno come out in a press conference before the National Title game and say, My Father Joe Paterno allowed a Phedophile to run wild over PSU for 14 years. He allowed many young men to be violated in shower rooms at PSU by being a F*cking Coward and trying to save his Legacy and not giving a shit about the youth of PA

  • PSU fans have to know in the back of their pea brain heads that this shit is just WRONG!!!!
Their al-mighty coach was very selfish and didn't give a shit about young kids. The truth is the truth.

  • I've said it before, I;ll say it again...why was he there at least 10 years past when he should have retired? I now think we know why. He was there to keep it under wraps.

And beat Bowdens record which was more important to him than the young lives that were ruined.
When you have been around as many Ped State fans as long as I have you don't have to be Albert Einstein to realize they are mental midgets.

  • Absolutely Boom. That's exactly how i refer to them after this behavior over the last year

  • Boom, I think they've been in the "denial" phase up until now. The Freeh report has sent shockwaves and I think fans are starting to realize that something wicked commeth their way.

I just took a peak at their Scout board and it's in full meltdown mode. Posters are at the proverbial ledge saying they won't watch sports again if PSU is given the death penalty.

I understand what they are going through... all the stages of grief, which most of us also went through with our own NCAA investigation.

I said it then and will say it again, no matter how much PSUers and scUMers gloated over our misfortunes, I do not wish that experience on anyone, including scUM or PSU.

  • I was reading a thread on the psu board and one person hit the nail right on the head. He said I'm not sure what happened but in a matter of hours this board has went dark, as in gloom. Of course there are a few still in denial but the writing on the wall is becoming more clear

Many PSU fans are discarding the Freeh Report as they say it's all based on opinion. Jay Paterno in an interview backed this up and said it's opinion as well...

high road miguel, and that's great. I hate PSU and always have. In the beginning of this, I did not revel in their situation; too despicable a crime. Last week I got caught up in it somewhat, when I went to their board. I posted they were 'delusional', and it got me 'blacklisted'. I came back here and took a few shots, but....anyway, I have been reading alot of their random posts; like below...

"But I say that Joe Paterno was not weak. He was not greedy. look at the way he lived...simply. Look at the good he did for all those years. Look at all the people who love him. He was moral. He was humble. He was honorable.

This life, these traits are not those of a man who would allow a child rapist to go free. But we don't know what happened. Did he? Didn't he? From the information out there so far, we don't know. And that is too much for most people. It's hard to fight the tide in the face of this much hurt, this much tragedy, this much hatred.

But I can't reconcile the Joe I thought I knew, with the portrait being painted today. There must be more to this story. There simply must be."

These people are clueless...it wasn't about anything but POWER for JoePa, they just don't get it.

You read stuff about how they know there needs to be some punishment and WE DO understand the problems here (just leave football alone)....and then you read something like this or see vigils protecting the statue and you know it's all lip service. They don't get it and they are not even remotely close to beginning to get get it.

    boomboom

  • I am surprised by the reluctance to take the statue down. It will come down soon enough, before the season starts I predict.

I pretty much loathe the PSU fan base as an abstract concept, especially given the way they gloated over our problems last year. In fact, I really hate in the abstract the axis of football homerism that is scUM-Wisky-PSU.

But I dont really hate the individual PSU fan as a real person, for whom the loss of the football team would be a true source of grief.

As regards JoPa, I view actions as being moral or immoral, right or wrong whereas people are neither one or the other, perhaps, more of a sum total of our actions.

Clearly whatever the motivation, what JoPa did was evil and selfish and allowed a much greater evil to proliferate. There will and should be consequences for his legacy based on this huge failure.

I am not in a hurry to judge the entirety of his person and life though. I am sure he did a lot of good things too and he has a right for those things to be remembered too.

Now only if Sandusky was into chicks like this we would be having a slow day on the board.

  • I am a pretty easy going guy that can get along with most people but it is hard to discuss anything with anyone on the PSU board without some ignoramous jumping in and cussing at you or using some other slang word to try to belittle you. It has been and always will be that I like to visit multiple sites to discuss things with other fanbases around the country. I understand that PSU fans are probably hypersensitive right now but the way many of them act it almost makes me hope they do get slammed by the NCAA and the Federal legal system.
