  • Shaz only being third team seems unlikely. Same with Roby being fourth team. That said, he also overrated some players IMO. I don't see CJ being the first team safety and I definitely don't see Hankins being first team all american and Stoneburner 2nd team All American.

    I didnt see it yet, but I will say this.......................I buy Phil Steele's magazine every single year. I think he has, pound for pound the best magazine out there. From what 3andc said, the Shazier thing would have me scratching my head more than Roby. Shazier is a F-ing ANIMAL!!!! Dude plays hurt and has REAL BAD intentions. Kid is flat out MEAN!

    Yeah I wouldn't have minded Shazier not being on the listed but Roby 4th ? c'mon. Dude was fantastic. I can only dream he becomes better than Malcom Jenkins. Didn't Malcom Jenkins say Roby was going to be a Star one time ago?

    True dat. His magazine is by far the best out there. I also love to listen to him on Bill KIng radio. He has a full hour on his show. He knows more about the mid tier and smaller schools than anyone.

    Now on Shazy, Yes he is a beast and could probably kill someone on the field, but I agree on the 3rd team. He is still young, and he gets out of position a lot. Yes he makes hard hits, and incredible plays, but if you watch tape on him for the other 100 snaps, he gets out of position on a lot. I believe this is lack of experience. He can only get better. I believe if he improves his decision making, nect year Phil will have him as top LB. On Roby, not sure what to think.

  • Shazier is young, I am no scout. The boy plays with his heart out. He was injured in the SCUm game but still gave it his best. Sabino on the other hand, he was the reason D.Rob scored that 1st TD.

    I have no complaints on Defense the coaches seemed to call the right plays and have their them where they have to be. Some guys were just not executing.

    Roby executed & more, name me a better B1G CB

    One of those overrated players would be Wisc LB Chris Borland. He was 1st team All Big 10 preseason '11 and '12. If he was a Buckeye...with OSU's current roster of LBers Borland's 2nd team at best...

    I like Steele's magazine for nothing more than the amount of raw data. The opinions he presents? I can take or leave it. But for different reasons to different people I think Steele's magazine is an excellent buy for any college football fan. Which reminds me. I need to get that one.

  • Yeah Sabino Dissappointed a lot last season, fans see why the coaching staff knows best, why he wasn't playing and got RS those years. The funny thing is he is tutoring the young ones. I hope they can learn something. But the Jury is not out on him yet hopefully he surprises us this season, he and travis howard ( another dissappointment last season).

  • Is his College Football Preview mag out already? Far and away the best football publication out there. Tons of data and the most accurate prognostications. He's also a Cleveland guy... good for the homer in me.

    As for Roby... that sure seems far down for him, especially when looking at the guys listed ahead of him... but nobody's perfect!
