Posey's draft status

  • Devier Posey is going to be a still in the third or fourth rounds. He has good value as a number 2 reciever in the NFL. The scouts are down on him, but i believe the 5 game suspension hurt his value. The kid can get open and thats what counts.

    he is an absolute steal IMO, I can't believe they have him as a 5th round talent. He gets open, runs crisp routes, has size, is fast. What else do you need??Completely undervalued.

    Truly a still. He is such a still I don't think I have ever seen a still quite like it. The guy is long limbed, tall, and good at high pointing the ball when jumping.

    Nailed it in calling it the still of the century.

  • Exactly, his charater should not be questioned either. The young man made mistakes but nothing illegal. Like you said he has the ability. I cant wait to see him shine in the league.

  • Posey would instantly be the Browns #1 receiver. Anyone that wants to argue this has not watched a single Browns game. Massaqoui should be in ballet. Little is a tweener with no thumbs. Norwood is 3' 1". I would love to see someone dispute this. This is the WORST group of WR's in the history of the NFL.

    seriously.. i think the browns should grab him with one of their 4th or 5th round picks. a true steal in my opinion. he had a great collegiate career, minus that wide open drop against iowa a year ago. i bet the steelers make a run for him in a later round.

    NFL scouts could care less about his suspension. All they look at is the film and the workout sessions.

    The reason he will go late is because he is a late round talent based on what he has done in his career and in workouts.

  • Way under valued because of his suspension. Runs great routes, great speed, play maker, fights for the ball, and doesn't drop the ball! Only knock is his release. Projected as a #6, but I think he'd be great at 4, it's not like the Browns have reached before!

    I agree. I cannot believe the Browns continue to draft so poorly. They will remain a joke for the foreseeable future. Yes, I think he's a good one, but a running back with the No. 3 pick, seriously? With Blackmon on the board, the worst WR corp in football, and the NFL being a pass first league?

    Should be a case in point or a lesson for any kid in CFB with potential that is thinking about a dumb move.

    Glad to see him get a shot with the Texans, but I believe he severely harmed his stock with the Tatgate stuff.
    Along with losing the bulk of his senior season, hurting the University and his team, I would say that this kid has paid a terrible, terrible price for some damn tats.

    Hopefully has sat down and thought about whether it was worth it? shrug

    Could have been at least a second rounder had he played the entire 2011 season. His situation has cost him and his family real embarrassment and a few dollars I would say.

  • Bucknasty, I totally agree with you. Posey might have been a first round pick if he got to practice and play the entire year. I hope this wakes him up.
    You and I need to form a wake up college for these kids. Our post about them waking up and taking advantage of their god gift talents are the same.

    Very nice spot for him to land at. No pressure to be the man. One of the top three receivers in the league to learn from. Good QB. Up and coming team. I could never figure out why he had such a poor draft grade. Seemed lke he could be a secnod rounder to me, but I started buying all the bullshit from the pundits and though he might be around in the 5th round (and at that point a steal for the Browns). Glad the Oilers proved the pundits (and me) wrong.
