Three things need to happen this Saturday and we will win yet another against Michigan.
1. A steady dose of Boom Herron. 2. Miller-Posey connection on safe, possession type throws. 3. Our defense needs to play like they have in the Big-Game for the last 10 years.
traditionally, our defense has always came up big against Michigan the last handful of years....we cant let the season get to us...we have the talent and we have the coaching to win this defensively.
Posey is our best receiver, hands down. He has come up big in almost all the big games, catching touchdowns. As long as Miller makes the throws, I see this connection being unstoppable.
Boom Herron. Just like years past of Maurice Clarrett, Tony Pittman, Beanie Wells. The key to beating Michigan is the run game. Let Herron loose in possibly his last game at OSU and he will lead us to victory. Running backs have been a huge factor in the last 6 rivalry games, and I expect it to be the same this year.

Honestly i hate to say it...but a way for Ohio St to beat Michigan : have Denard turn the ball over in BAD situations ,he is a turnover machine..something like 14 INT inside the oppt 15 yd line in the past 21 games..that should NEVER happen. theres no way OSU will be able to throw the ball ..Braxton will have to run for 125 Yds and not turn it over to have a shot.
Michigan 27-15

I think its funny how confident you guys are, after not just losing 8 years in a row but being blown out in the last several years to where we were running clock before the 4th quarter to not be assholes. I'd be willing to bet this game will not come with the ease that you or anyone else here that is predicting that way thinks it will. This is a rivalry game, and quite frankly, i'm not sure Michigan is that much better than we are, even though we suck.

If OSUs defense shows up, they'll win this game by multiple scores. You're making the assumption that Robinson will be better against the OSU defense than he 'a been the past two years. Michigans defense isnt anything special, so OSU will move the ball on it.
If they show up to play ( and its a concern) OSU will win by 10. 31-21.

Michigan held Burkhead to 36 yards on 10 carries and Illinois to 51 yards on 32 carries.
If you are counting on OSU to run the ball to win, you may be wrong.Michigan has a good to great rushing defense this year and WILL force Ohio State to throw the ball to win.
Go ahead and downvote me all you want but I think it will be a defensive struggle with Michigan winning 27-17
Edit: Michigan is 2nd in Red Zone Defense this year only behind Alabama:

What a difference coaching makes.

The problem with a "steady dose of Boom Herron" approach is that he's not Hearcel Walker, Bo Jackson, Keith Byars, Adrian Peterson, Beanie Wells or Eddie George. In other words a tailback who has both fierce power and speed. Someone who can run over whoever's in front of them en route to picking up first downs and TDs.
Not to say he can't on occasion, however, handing the ball off repeatedly to Boom won't get us a W. Against scUM in their house and with their hurry-up, quick -strike offense juxtaposed with our big-play blowing defense, running the ball most of the game, won't serve us well at all.
The keys to winning is for the defense to not miss tackles--esp in the open field. They must wrap up and force turnovers. When Robinson goes pass happy, our DBs must catch the INT and not let it hit them in the chest then fall to the turf (you hear that Bryant and Barnett?)
Michigan will be amped, however, we can use this game in much the way we had in '99 when they were favored yet we almost and should've won that game. Better yet, in '87. We used that game as a rallying cry for all the team had endured that season (losing Cris Carter due to signing with an agent, not being bowl eligible and Earle Bruce being fired). Not since that season has a Buckeye team endured so much off and on-the-field misfortune. And we can use all we've endured the past year by sending this senior class and Fickell, off with a win. But only IF we play with heart, play with passion and play to win not play not to lose.

I've never down voted you, contrary to your post.
I do believe OSU will run the ball on SCUMs defense. They've effectively run the ball since Braxton has taken over. You can certainly look to your statistics, but talent wise, OSU may be the most talented team SCUM has faced this year. This doesn't show up on the box score due to a very young QB with no receivers and a limited play caller. But the offensive line can be dominant and I expect it to show up Saturday.
Now SCUMs offense revolves around Robinson. OSU defense has dominated him the past two years. This is a new year, but the speed still remains to give him fits.
SCUMMY will be fired up, but is OSU shows up, they're going to win this game.

Michigan was 117th in total defense last year, this year they are 5th. Offense is not the issue in my opinion. I counted on 1 hand the number of times we blitzed in 3 years. .... Ohio State is in bottom 20 of sacks given up and now Michigan is in the top 40 of sacks against. Quite a turn around.

Recipe for a win this Saturday
