Recruit being honest about PSU

    Sorry. The fans were down playing / belittling the recruits comments about using the term the college drew a red flag thus eliminating psu. They seem oblivious to what red flags the recruits see with psu (the fans cant see it.....HELLO SANDUSKY)

    I just won't go to their site anymore. They are far and away the biggest head-in-the-sand bunch of delusional misfits I have ever seen.

    Trust me, I live in PA and I am surrounded by PSU fans. Just win this year and the recruits will come and all will be forgotten. They think it's all over.....yet they want to bring up tattoos whenever they get a chance. They are a pathetic group.

    1. When you come to the free thread and leave the address of a VIP Penn State Board thread for us to read, of course Around The Shoe posters will be disappointed. I assume it was a mistake and you weren't just marketing the VIP option. Thanks for summarizing.
    2. It's not so obvious to me why a recruit would stop looking at Penn State now for transgressions of a former coach years ago. Sandusky is gone. Paterno is gone. The guys in the athletic department who should have done something and didn't are gone. Is there a university sex scandal stain that might get on the new recruits? What happened at Penn State could have happened anywhere, even Michigan or Ohio State. I could be wrong of course. Western Pennsylvania might harbor more sexual deviants than other parts of the country and Penn State just might be the hot bed.

    Let me try and help you with point #2 Jimmy. It's fair to say that this scandal has hurt PSU football...recruits decommitted and kids like this are saying they will not come. So if it's proven there was a cover up, one could easily conclude that the cover up protected PSU football as well as win some games, since the fallout never happened until now.

    So hiding something to protect the brand, the team etc...(as Buckeye fans we know this) is wrong. So PSU could very easily be facing sanctions in the future.

    Nah he wasn't -- even Bucknuts premium members cannot read VIP posts on other sites. Nut can though because he's a mod. He probably just didn't realize the posts were VIP initially. No need to overreact. Nut's a good guy and wasn't trying to make anyone angry, and certainly wasn't trying to play salesman for Bucknuts.

  • As razor said I actually didn't realize it was VIP (they really don't have a lot of them compared to Bucknuts. The one guy on their board Sean seems like a down to earth guy..

    I was really taken back when their fans couldn't understand why a recruit was hesitant about giving a verbal or eliminating psu. Some of them really don't understand the seriousness of the problem and frowned on the recruit for openly admiting it
