Yes Michigan tried to get Dunn but Urban tried to get 6 kids from Michigan (according to multiple Michigan boards and the kids themselves) Reeves was a kid that Michigan targeted last year then the Penn St stuff happened so he opened his recruiting back up..C William is why he chose OSU .There WERE ZERO OSU kids that Hoke and Meyer went head to head for Dunn was before Meyer and Reeves was a kid Michigan never contacted after his visit.(maybe they already knew he was going with Williams)..6 Michigan kids Urban couldnt get to flip.

1st team in NCAA history to beat 9 teams with 6+ wins in one year,1st team to play 12 games vs teams with 6+ wins in one year. both losses were because a DUMb 4th and 1 call inside opp 5 yd line ,shouldve run instead of passed shouldve been 13-0 ..MSU scored on an INT very late to make it a 2 score game and Iowa was givin a TD on a dropped pass sold out tix for Sugar bowl in 13 minutes

Funny how you mention the things that went wrong in your losses. What about some of the things that went right in order for you to win? Such as the Notre Dame game, or the multiple over thrown balls our QB did against you or how bout the piss poor officiating of the Sugar Bowl. You may have been able to win those 2 games but you also could have lost 3 more just as easily so it goes both ways.

Aside from the fact that MSU didn't qualify, I can see why the Sugar Bowl would pick UM over MSU. SOS is part of it. UM was the only bowl team who played ten other bowl teams, one of only three who defeated eight bowl teams (LSU and Ok St are the others), and only played one team that finished with a losing record. MSU played two teams that finished 3-9, two that finished 1-11, and played a division 2 team. And in '10 when MSU finished with the most wins in program history, tied for the B10 championship, in their last home game, senior day, they couldn't even fill their own stadium. Subway sandwiches bought thousands of tickets and gave them away to help put asses in seats. Third, when it comes to attracting a national television audience it's no contest.
Deserve has nothing to do with it. If I were running the bowl and my money were on the line, no question which team I'd pick. MSU just doesn't have the draw.

Did Alex Smith look like a #1 overall pick before Meyer got there? Has he looked like one since? No on both counts, so maybe you should give Meyer his due for coaching the kid up. Until Hoke has 2 NC rings, he can't be compared to Meyer. Much like this year tsun will start fast in recruting and hit a wall around September. tOSU will continue to land top prospects and finish either #1 or #2 in the recruitng rankings with Alabama.

A19, Sorry I'm a Michigan fan, but I have to disagree about Elmer. Brady is not giving up on the recruitment of Elmer may be the story, but I doubt very much that Elmer is thinking about making a switch to UofM. Elmer was doing the same thing at the ND/UM game that Billy Price was doing at the UM/OSU game (tweeting pro-opponent comments while on a Michigan visit).
I think we have a great shot at Pocic and Treadwell...but if I had to guess, OSU is looking better on the recruitment of Foster than what Michigan is.

You might wanna do a little research before you say they have no play makers. In Hoke's 2 classes they got Norfleet (one of the fastest RB in America) Drake Johnson (a track star in the state of Michigan) that just started playing football 2 years ago Drake Johnson MLive.com Football 2011 fall football Season Statistics Statistic Total Rushing Attempts 343 Rushing Attempts Per Game 28.6 Rushing Yards Average 9.2 Rushing Yards 2800 Rushing Yards Per Game 263.3 Rushing Touchdowns 37 Receptions 15 Receiving Yards 183 Receiving Touchdowns 3 Total Touchdowns 44 --- including 4 on defense More Ann Arbor Pioneer Stats: Football » | Boys Track and Field » if he played 3+ season of football Drake Johnson wouldve been a 5 star recruit add Terry Richardson (68 total Tds as WR/return guy to go along with his 31 INT during his career) Dymonte Thomas , 5 TE's all ranked in the top 10 both years at TE and the # 1 QB in the land . hard to say they dont have play makers.

Whats amazing is two years ago Michigan lost 5 games; Wisconsin, Iowa, MSU, OSU, and PSU. Last year they didn't play Wisconsin or PSU but still lost to MSU and Iowa. The only gain they had was beating OSU yet the fans are ready to claim "Their Back". Sorry, but they went to the Sugar Bowl because of their lucky conference schedule and playing 8 home games. Love how football fans twist facts to make themselves feel better.

If the Buckeyes go 11-2 this year, no matter how close or lucky the wins, this board will be full of people proclaiming the Bucks are back. When you win, you win the right to talk some smack. Every team, even teams on successful runs to a national championship, have a few games that are decided by lucky plays and bad calls. It's part of the game. Just look at OSU's last national championship team.
