SEC Network

I just heard, that SEC is looking to have their own Network in the making. Probably not for a couple of years , maybe after the playoff system starts and the SEC/B12 bowl matchup begins. But I was wondering how this would effect the ESPN love. Is this a slap in the face to ESPN. Once the news comes out that they are 100% doing it, will ESPN then start saying that SEC is slow, sucks, and are over-rated.

ESPN slaps a Network tag on the SEC and the ACC.
They pretty much want to keep them having from what the BIG has and soon with the PAC12.

Personally, I'm surprised it's taken the SEC this long but don't know what contracts they have/had with regional cable networks like Learfield or Fox Sports South that might've conflicted with a venture like this. As commissioners go, Slive's been the lead dog on the sled for a long time. The BTN is about the only thing Delaney's done that's been remotely innovative, aside from recruiting Nebraska, which was the first salvo in this latest round of expansion fever, and strengthening the B1G's relationship with the Pac-12 but Larry Scott deserves equal credit for that.

I honestly figured ESPiN would just change their name at some point like others mentioned, or just create an additional channel like ESPiN 4 and just call it SEC Network.

They really don't need a name change, ESPNU basically runs SEC sports 24hours a day already.

Reports are out that the B1G teams have hauled in 25 million per team. FSU reported receiving 12.5 million this year. They say the new ACC deal will make it 17 million, but it's back loaded (meaning they won't get much more until later years). So basically Indiana who wins 3 times a year makes double than what ACC makes. Awesome. Who wouldn't want to be in the B1G.
