And as Chad said below, they've come a LONG way in treatment. There's definite hope; I've seen it frist hand too.

Hey Pisan; hang in there, my wife's cousin was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer 9 years ago, she got treatment and is still alive today with no signs of re-occurrence. The point is, miracles happen every day and cancer can be beat.

Hang in there IB. My prayers are with you and your family. I hope your wife is as fortunate as my mom, who was diagnosed with cancer my senior year of high school. That was 19 years ago, and she's still with us. I'll tell her, and I'm sure that will add many, many more people praying for you all. Best wishes.

Sorry to hear this IB. This sucks. No way around it. Just get ready, get your wife ready. Fight this thing. You can beat it. Stay positive and keep fighting. She can do this with you, and you need to support her in a way you never have before. Prayers for your family from mine brother.

On this topic, is anyone riding in Pelotonia this year? I rode in 2009, 2010, missed 2011 and am back on the bike for this year. The fantastic thing about this event is that EVERY SINGLE PENNY donated goes to funding life-saving research and treatment at The James Cancer Center. This stat blows me away: in just three years, the event has raised $25.1 million for The James. Pretty awesome.
If anyone is interested in donating, here is a link to my page. I hate for this to come across as soliciting, but we all need to be part of the cancer solution because it impacts all of us, one way or another. If you donate, I'll also write the name (or nickname, initials, etc.) of anyone you wish on my jersey so they can be part of the ride.
Current statistics are that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will develop some type of cancer in their lifetime. I don't want my kids, or my kids' kids, facing those odds. That's a big part of why I ride. That and I'm so freaking tired of hearing stories like IB's.
