  • I'll trust Tim May's word. He's real credible. And i want in on that list to IB if you end up doing that

Dude as far as I'm concerned Maryland's has a shot in hell of getting Diggs, the boys smarter than that, Randy Edsall over Urban Meyer, yeah I dont think so!

Huh? I'm still trying to interpret what you have said...

    goldenstatebuck

  • Yes Urban Meyer is so fake, that he got one of the best college athletes of all time, oh, and he was also one of the biggest religous people, in the US, I've ever seen, to go to Florida, and win 2 NC's, not by being "fake", I'm not saying he's the most honest person ever, but he's a better recruiter, then Locksley, and Edsall, same with Chizik, and Musloser. Not to mention AU has been caught cheating, Florida has fallen off, and MD well that explains itself.

EDIT - Sorry forgot to quote, Rudy.

Either way I'll take what we have at OSU without Diggs over what you would have AT Maryland with Diggs.

What difference does it make? They are all just guessing. I'm hearing something different from all of the sources. I'm skeptical about Maryland because Diggs didn't mention them in his post on Monday. I think its a three way race between Florida, Auburn, and Urban Meyer. I'm not sure where he's going to wind up but don't discount the Urbinator!

  • Twittersphere saying Diggs is not announcing on Comcast tomorrow, ie sounds like Maryland is out and it's between UF and OSU.

Good news for OSU "Stefon Diggs won't be announcing decision on Comcast SportsNet. He committed to do it earlier but backed out."

Can't go wrong with my decision ..

I don't know: "great place" isn't exactly the most glowing endorsement based on the other comments in his post.

I agree 100 percent. Jalin committing early has ensured we have a big time playmaker for the 2013 campaign. I'm thinking we land 3 or 4 more BIG time offensive weapons in 2013. I want Diggs, but 2012 was a major defensive haul, I think 2013 brings the playmakers.

  • Btw, how in the hell does anyone like Florida? I went to med school at USF, and I can assure you the weather sucks! The humidity is unbearable. I wish all the Florida recruits would visit in July/August, that'd be the end of the nice weather discussion.

You don't want to be depending on freshman playmakers in a year you hope to make a major run.

I wouldn't be surprised by tOSU, Maryland, or Florida for Diggs. Everyone who says that Maryland has no chance is simply not taking into account all the variables that go into making a decision like this. That said, I hope we get him.

I agree, but we will be led by a junior QB. While it's rare that a freshman makes a huge impact, special players can be an exception. Maurice Clarett got it done as a freshman. Without him we don't win the NC. I think Jalin is beyond special, and while it's not guaranteed he'll live up to the hype, I like his chances and I like them early.

Good Counsel star WR-DB Stefon Diggs expected to commit to Maryland
    By Josh Barr

All-Met Defensive Player of the Year Stefon Diggs of Good Counsel is poised to announce that he will accept a scholarship offer to play for Maryland, according to a source with knowledge of Diggs’s plans.

Diggs had planned to announce his college choice Friday on Comcast SportsNet, but a station spokesman said Thursday that Diggs had backed out of the arrangement. While Diggs still might make his choice known Friday, it was not immediately clear when or where that will take place

Diggs, a star receiver and cornerback, is believed to also be strongly considering Florida and Ohio State. Auburn is also among his final choices. At this point, nothing would surprise those who have closely followed Diggs’s recruitment.

Diggs, a two-time All-Met, has declined recent interview requests but Thursday he appeared to think through his decision on his Twitter page.

“Never been this nervous my whole life. Football games I’ve never once got nervous,” Diggs posted Thursday (@Marseanbaybee ). “Footballs easy just about the work you put in. But making a decision that’ll impact your life for the next 40 to 50 years.”

Diggs posted that he liked the warmer weather in Florida, that Maryland was the hometown school, that Ohio State was a great place and Auburn seemed like a family.

“Everybody going love you up until your no longer producing for them,” Diggs posted. “This is a business. Gotta remember its people jobs on the line.”

If Diggs chooses Maryland, he would be the school’s most highly-rated recruit in several years. The last player rated higher than Diggs to sign with the Terps was Baltimore defensive end Melvin Alaeze in 2005 and 2006, but he never suited up for Maryland.

Good Counsel Coach Bob Milloy has long said he prefers his players to stay close to home for college and he said that Maryland Coach Randy Edsall had made an impression on Diggs’s mother, Stephanie. While the Terps always were in the mix for Diggs, it is believed they made a late push after the hiring of offensive coordinator Mike Locksley, whose recruiting ties to the Washington area have been well documented. Diggs took an official visit to College Park this past weekend.

Diggs previously had agreed to announce his decision on Comcast SportsNet, but on Thursday a station spokesman said that will not happen.

“We have been informed his announcement will NOT be made on CSN,” the spokesman said in a text message. “We are not aware of his plans.”

Although quarterback Danny O’Brien apparently intends to transfer, leaving C.J. Brown as the only experienced player at that position on the roster, the Terrapins might have another quarterback in the fold soon. Former Virginia Tech backup Ricardo Young, an All-Met in 2009 who spent part of this past season at New Mexico, might be in Maryland’s future plans, possibly for the 2013 season. Young is one of six players with local ties now attending Iowa Western Community College.

While most high school seniors bound for college football signed their paperwork when the National Letter-of-Intent signing period began Feb. 1, Diggs followed a recent trend of top players waiting a few weeks into the period to make their plans known.

I agree! I live in the Miami area so its not as bad bc we have the ocean breeze and the beach but 9 out of the 12 months you don't want to be outside and inland is even worse! 100% humidity and 98 degrees f that. I don't like the snow either but Florida is to hot
