    Tim has received offers from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Mich St, Miss St, Nebraska, UNC, Oklahoma, PSU & Wisky. Some sites also have a Tennessee offer.
    People dont understand why he dosnt have an offer, and I am one of them! People say he hasnt received an offer because Meyer is going after better national talent. Really? Cuz in my eyes, Mr. Kimbrough is almost as National as you can get. He WANTS to be a Buckeye. He has OSU as him #1 still! And he still dosnt have an offer!

    Why havnt we offered him yet? What is the hold up?

  • Id take Kimbrough & Love & call it a day for the LBs. UNLESS Jaylon Smith wants in. hes a kid you dont say no to. I also thought Kimbrough was a kid you dont say no to, but apparently the staff could end up saying no to him.
    Kimbrough & Love would be my LB class for 2013. We have other needs to focus on!
    Im not that high on Alex Anzalone. Maybe its because I think he is better on offense than he is on defense.
    I would rather have Shane Jones from Cincy Moeller than Anzalone.

  • I honestly have to believe and this is my opinion only that Smith has shown his hand and we are looking good with him. Also I just think the staff likes a few other guys more. It condridicts what is going on with the QB position though. I'm not really understanding this whole "non commitable" offer thing? At some point I'd think Kimbrough will say "screw you" to us. However if he really was that big of a fan he'll wait. I would have but Coop never offered??? It's ok, nobody else did either! Lol

    I was wondering about this kid while online. Anyone have the scoop here? Why doesn't he have an offer?
    Maybe the staff is slow playing him waiting on someone else to commit? Too many questions about this
    as this doesn't make sense.

    I saw his picture throwing up the Block O. If that ain't telling about what he wants then I don't know what is..

  • One thing I have noticed. Urban's staff is very confusing with their offers. Kids we fans see as being a no brainer are not offered. Maybe the staff just doesn't see the speed that they want. I don't know. Just a thought.

    i agree. i also think anzalone is a better TE prospect. I'd take Love and 1-2 ILB's since we loaded up on OLB's in 2012. I'd pursue a CB b/c i think Cam grows into a safety at the next level.

    Ya I've read that too. As great as recruiter as Meyer is and with Rod already here, you'd think this was a slam dunk? Maybe Jaylon wants his own path? This Kimbrough thing does have me puzzled though. I'm with the rest of you though, I trust the staff!

    One question and it's not a knock on Meyer but the aricle yesterday that he took kids regardless of character but this speculation with Foster and Kimbrough seems to say something different? Is this part of the "new" Coach Meyer? Or with us under the microscope is there no room for error? Just a thought.

  • I think we should offer Kimbrough, accepting him into the class, and forcing the other guys to make a decision on the last LB spot.

    I want Smith as much as the next guy but one kid isn't going to make or break the class, and a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

    Agreed, and he even went to another H.S. just to stay out of the shadow of his brother. If Kimbrough wants to be a Buckeye this badly, what is the hold up on an offer? Is it grades, or does the coaching staff just have bigger targets on the screen without a full complement of scollies?

    Neal won't be playing the DL as it was announced earlier.
    Consequently, you have two LBs in this class: Anzalone and Neal.

    Not to mention the following are coming in as well:

    1) Jamal Marcus
    2) Josh Perry
    3) Luke Roberts
    4) Camren Williams

    I personally would love to see Kimbrough and Smith in the mix, but I am not sure that there is room
    nor will it happen. Kimbrough would be a nice add as it appears that J. Smith has his nose up B. Kelly's ass
    and is okay with projecting his favor for that sorry band of asses.

    I saw a post that stated that Urban Meyer supposedly laid out the recruiting pitch for one Jaylon Smith, but I am not sure how or if it was received.

    At this point, I personally would save a spot for him and continue to recruit him all the way until the end. However, I would also go get my OL (Pocic, Peterson and K. Rodgers) and try to flip Bivin or McGovern with the thought that Norte Shame will crash and burn over the next 11 months.

    This should open it up a bit and enable Coach Meyer to make his play for ND recruits!!

  • just because the staff hasn't offered doesnt mean they are not interested, they could have easily told the kid to get his grades up and an offer is in the mail, just saying you don't always know what happens behind the scenes.

    That may indeed be the case....but what I DO know is Love, Anzalone, Gedeon, Smith, Neal, Levenberry and Rolin were all rated higher then Kimbrough by the staff. And I am willing to bet there may have been a few more then that too.

  • It seems the staff has definitely put a premium on LB's that can either play or grow into all 3 LB positions. Anzalone, Love, J Smith, Rolin, Gedeon, Neal, Perkins, etc. They all seem to have tremendous athleticism and speed as primary attributes.
    That said, Kimbrough plays like he is shot out of a cannon. He's tremendously physical and does a great job of getting to the football. As speculation suggests, there may be academic concerns. However, this kid's film is every bit as impressive as J Marcus'. And Urban loves J Marcus. I can't imagine not moving on this kid during camp if he qualifies.

    I just saw the film of his junior year for the first time and loved it. Indeed, he plays like an Urban Meyer recruit, with speed, attitude, and bad intentions.
    One other possible thought. He doesn't look very big on film. He's listed at over 6 feet and 210 or so but seems smaller. If you can get the same intangibles in a bigger body, you might have to pass on him with the number crunch this year.
    Oh, also this. He has declared early that OSU is his favorite. This may not work in his favor. The thought might be that we can string him along for awhile while we see what Smith or someone else decides knowing that if we offer, he will come.

  • IMO it doesn't appear that we need more depth at LB just to take someone unless they are elite of the elite i.e. Jaylon Smith (who doesn't appear to be headed our way). With the haul last year and this year thus far i'm not sure why the staff would focus on LB this year.
