Should be an interesting week. Tressel should know his fate once the NCAA decisions come down. Hopefully this week! Not a bad fit for him IMO.

It would surprise me if anyone would hire him before the NCAA sanctions are known.
Maybe UCLA figures that some of the rivalry magic that kept The Vest in business at OSU will come with him!!!

If Tress doesn't get a Show Cause, then I am going to be pretty pissed at Smith & Gee.
If Tress gets another good job like UCLA, then I'd be really happy for him and hope that he kicks Kiffen's arse 10 years in a row.

I just want Tress to get an AD job at any school in Ohio. Tress was a few years away from retiring i thought anyways

I was trying to find the string of replies on twitter, but lost it. But someone said there is someone @ UCLA with strong ties to NCAA....like Gene Smith types of ties. And they assumed that if UCLA is interested and talking, then maybe this person got word from NCAA there will be no show cause. If that's the case, would that mean we have less of a chance of getting hammered as well? Just wantin this crap to end man and searching for anything I guess....LOL.

Not sure if this is true, but if it is I wish him the best of luck whatever he decides to do. Besides his gaff last year, he was always good to OSU.......and anyways I still don't believe any of the big coaches from the big programs would of ratted on their top guys knowing you are going into a season as a top team and possible national title contender like for us last year, and I also still believe that the athletic department knew about this and tressel took the bullet to protect the university more because if the university knew about it then it would be lack of institutional control

Everyone always assumes the worst. What if UCLA hired him as a consultant to help them find their next head coach. He seemed pretty serious when he shot down the Akron rumors and said he most likely wouldn't coach again... but that means nothing because we got Urban Meyer when he was suppose to be done for an extended period of time.

why would anyone be mad if he went to ucla? id be happy for tress. we dont play ucla in any way shape or form so if he were to actually want to take that job id be excited. id watch ucla football

Tress wouldnt get the recruits out west. Tress would be better served a program close to home where he can grab Ohioans. I really wish Akron would have worked out. I think The Vest is done on the big stage.

What fate would Tressel have? NCAA don't punish coaches? He is clean and clear to do what he wants.
Eddie Sutton had his son take Eric Manuel's Entrance tests at Kentucky,only thing that happened was Eric Manuel got life from the NCAA sutton and his son both coached the next year!

Yes I concur. Only the best for Tress. Although I am ecstatic about getting Meyer, I will never forget Tressel. Although he erred, I dont think it required the punishment of a forced resignation IMHO. I am still bitter about that.
