UM vs AL

  • I will not cheer for an SEC team. I made this determination after hearing the LSU fans chant "S-E-C...S-E-C...." after they beat us in 2008 NC.

I want to see any team from the BIG beat the SEC, pretty much regardless of circumstances.

What would be better for us than having Michigan come into the Shoe this November as an undefeated, No. 1 ranked team?

With the exception of those who have ties with Alabama, I cannot imagine why any OSU fan wouldn't want to see a Michigan upset. I don't see it happening, but it would be epic if it did and definitely in TOSU's best interest.

I know not everyone will agree with what I've said, and I understand folks like Iowa's point of view, but I just can't root for some of those squads who spewed the venom the way they did (and some still continue to do it, just look at the MSU thread on page 1). I hope Boise St clobbers MSU next Thursday night. (Probably not without Kellen Moore, but would love to see MSU lose at home to them)

If mich is going to win then I hope they smoke Bama. Then I hope we go undefeated and smoke mich. There would have to be some talk about the AP sharing a championship. Its all about underlying motives.

This would make it all worth it

JAG- the way to deal with the lsu fans is simply to ask them, where the hell were they when the Bama fans were chanting SEC after last years NCG

Ya those are the only circumstances under which I'd like to see it happen. Michigan would need to go undefeated the rest of the way until we play them and hopefully stomp them.

  • I hope Bama beats Hoke skinny. Anyone remember the Overrated Hokies of last year? Thats this years Michigan. If and when they lose to Bama look for the wheels on the bus to stop going round and round.

  • Im rooting for scUM suckers. I dont need scUM to lose every game to feel better about OSU's chances in beating them like some. I know that not all that want scUM to lose every game feel like that, but I know ther is a good % of OSU fans that need Michigan to lose in order to feel better about The Game.

I can tell you what would be better.

Michigan coming into the shoe at 0-10 and looking for tremendous ass whippin' to cap off
the firing of Brady Joke on the next morning!

Sorry dude, but I ain't buying the "we need scUM to win thing" for this game to relevant.
This game is ALWAYS relevant, which is why it means so much and the records are thrown out.

It's a bare knuckles fight with the loser needing to wait an entire year for redemption!!

don't need a big story line or "unique set of factors" to get up for the last Saturday in November. The Buckeye win will be special whether scUM is 11-0 or 1-10.

Gotta agree with Nasty...I don't give a hoot if they've not won a game or are the top ranked team in the country. The Game is the game, we need to win it regardless. I'll get no additional satisfaction no matter their ranking.

  • I don't see how we could ever root for Mich, Wisky, MSU, Mich, Penn St, after how the ran there mouths about us this past season. The days of rooting for the conference is over. I hate Michigan more than any team in the NCAA, I could never cheer for them.

I like your style. Piss off the Skunkweasels in your S&G while the Bama boys are funnin' 'n' gunnin' up the score. Also like your handle : dossbuckeyes. Sweet!

This is the one that agree with. I will not be rooting for scUM regardless of the implications. In fact, I will be hoping that Alabama beats them by 40!!

I don't need a big story line or "unique set of factors" to get up for the last Saturday in November. The Buckeye win will be special whether scUM is 11-0 or 1-10. Plain and simple.

could not agree with bucknasty more on this one. tsun and their arrogant ass fans can lick my hairy bean bags. my hatered for them runs much deeper than it does for alabama or any other sec team for that matter. most of my reasons for this are simple I don't want to hear them cocking off all year long about how great they are, I don't wish for any positive outcome for that sorry ass school. I hope they get all the misery that alabama can possibly dish out. they deserve every bit of it and then some.

  • It's not a UM thing but more on the line of the SEC crappy thing. I agree with Jag, I will root for whoever plays against the SEC teams. The only time I will want UM to win is against an SEC team. That's it. The rest of the teams in NCAA - Never. Not even ND. Well I hate them both, so I hope they both lose (if that's possible).

That includes any B1G team. I will never root for Wisky- except against an SEC team. The rest of the year, I hope O'Brien cries so much he wants to go back to Maryland.

The problem is not just ESPN, but all of media is on the SEC c^&k. Every f-ing channel or radio show, or whatever is always about SEC. I can't stand it anymore. It's just like NBA with me- everytime they turn onto that subject I turn the channel. With SEC I am turning the channel every 20 mins. I can't wait until that whole conference falls to shit.

There seem to be a few of you who differ, but it is factual to say that The Game is going to be most relevant to the greatest number of college football fans when both teams are good. This would include fans of both teams and non-gambler fans of other teams who might be watching with passive interest. That's common sense and I don't think anyone can really argue with that.

Maybe I'm not as big of a fan as you, but admit that I wasn't nearly as fired up in the RR years when it was pretty much predetermined that we were going to beat them. Tressel laid off the throttle in a couple of these games because he was trying not to beat them too badly.

I consider myself a long term thinker in this situation. In my mind, OSU has to be the team to take down the SEC. The only way we can do this is by winning a championship against a SEC team, and ideally Alabama. The win against Arkansas was a tasty appetizer, but not the main course. The championship game will be all the more exciting if its OSU-AL, a Meyer-Saban showdown. The significance of the moment will be diminished in my mind if Michigan beats AL first. We have to be the ones to do it. As a result, I hope AL beats UM for the next two years, we beat UM for the next two years and we beat AL in the 2014 BCS Championship. After that, I hope every B10 team beats every SEC team until the end of time. Call me a dreamer, but that's how I'd love the future to play out.

They only play once that's why it isn't Home & Home. Michigan won't play them after this year. I wont cheer for them but I also won't be cheering for AL. I hate all the SEC teams and their fans. The BIG fans I hate the most tho is MSU. those ass holes are getting to be super annoying. I always love when they lose.

I have Michigan losing this game pretty bad. I just can't see a okay team like Michigan beating a really good team like AL. I also think people who think that Michigan wont be any good this year are kidding them self's. The BIG sucks this year no reason why they shouldn't beat up on most teams they play. I have them going 9-3 with losses to AL NEB OSU.

I will also be watching this game, and I'll be rooting for Alabama to absolutely beat the living shit out of Michigan. We have to play Michigan every year. We don't play Alabama every year and if Michigan were to get lucky and beat the defending national champ that will give yet another shot of adrenaline to Michigan's recruiting game.

As far as rooting for fellow Big Ten teams -- I'm done with that. I used to do that. After the venom that came out from virtually every other fanbase in the Big Ten (MSU, PSU, Michigan, Wisconsin to note a few key ones) over some of our kids selling their personal possessions I will root against most of those squads in every game. Don't give a shit if they're in our conference. I just want to see Ohio State win, and these other clowns lose. It's been made abundantly clear to me that it's us against the world and there is no such thing as conference unity.

    Edit: SP

Looks like most agree with you, including myself. We are out of playoffs, so I really am not worried about how the B1G looks. That, and it takes more than one year to say a conference is strong, so Ill wait another year. I have heard enough of panic we're back panic we're back panic we're back panic we're back panic . I don't want to hear anymore. At first I was annoyed that Jokey is letting fitz play after his dui. However that 1. shows his character and 2. gives them no excuses.

Therefore, I do not want them to get beat...........I want a curb stomping. Enilated and humiliated. Roll tide

As for taking Bama down, hopefully we see them next year in the NC game. We will deal with them then.

100% agree, scUM fans were decent and you could actually have a somewhat intelligent conversation until they won last year. Now they are as obnoxious as ever. Hope Alabama puts 100 on them.

    JAG24 my brother:

You sound like a damn advertising exe on this post. I wasn't aware that you were based in New York city and so concerned about TV ratings? What gives? shrug

DUDE THIS IS THE "DAMN GAME"! The single most important event of the year for Buckeye fans! Have you not been paying attention since 1895??

C'mon man. This ain't about "broad appeal" to casual fans or for some limp wrist on the West Coast watching highlights. THIS is the Buckeye vs. scUM game that we are talking about. The single biggest rivalry game known to man kind.

Time for you to get in where you fit in and wise up my friend.

YES, I am a SERIOUS Buckeye fan. A rabid type that would simply go ape shit on a scUM fan just because........

DUDE I WAS FRACKIN' ECSTATIC during the Dick Rod years watching MY Buckeyes skull drag those bastards time, after time, after time! I would gladly welcome that again if Meyer could be so successful.

My man its plain and simple. A brother like me and my family are die hard S&G fans and have been that way for 50+ years. We do the S&G all day, all week and twice on Saturday.

Not sure what exactly you don't get about the need for Buckeye dominance and in particular.............Buckeye dominance over the asses from up North. This is what we do. WE DEMAND IT!!
