Florida fans are simply in denial about their own program. Florida fans probably think that if Urban had the chance to come to OSU before originally accepting the UF job that he would have still chosen UF. Florida has been on a good run primarily because of Urban, not in spite of him.

That's nonsense, every team will have down years occasionally, and at Florida that's especially the case. Everyone talks about the talent in Florida but no one ever mentions the fact that there are 3 major schools in Florida, and everyone in the SEC competing for that talent. Meyer will have a built in advantage at OSU, not only can Ohio State recruit nationally, but we should continue to lock down the state in recruiting. scUM has specifically been hurt by OSU's success in locking down Ohio.

Absolutely right -- to say he left the cupboard bare at Florida is to be ignorant.
Urban's recruiting class rankings from 2007 - 2010: 2007: 2 2008: 4 2009: 5 2010: 1
In fact after looking at those recruiting class rankings, I'd have to ask anyone who tries to make the case that Meyer left Florida's cupboard bare what the f*ck they are smoking...he set them up with all-star rosters.

You're correct he had great recruiting classes on paper. For some reason those classes stopped producing by the time Tebow left. There were rumors of 5star freshmen coming in and behaving like they were entitled while the upper classmen resented the publicity the kids were getting. One thing I appreciated about JT was he recruited 5 stars but also made sure he filled out thye classes with roleplayers. I hope he gets us a solid mix of talent not just a bunch of egos. I believe he will.

I live here and many of the Florida backers are complaining and telling me he was good with talent already assembled. When asked if they were just jealous most replied yes. They are not happy with the way he left and that he was only out one year but most all of them say that tOSU is getting a great coach.
The only thing I have not heard has been the community activities. I have a close friend starting to ask around Gainsville. I am sure that he did some great things in that area as well.
Looking forward to hearing Carmen sung after a lot of victories.

That's not exactly true. He lost plenty of players from Florida to other programs. I don't remember the kid's name but he ended up going to USC. He was a LB from Lakeland and I think his name was Keith Rivers. He was one of the highest rated LBs in the nation. It was a surprise to see him go to USC.
By the way, how many of you have even ever heard of this guy? To my knowledge, he didn't do anything at USC. Just goes to show not to put much faith in ratings. Give me a hard worker like Beanie Wells or Chris Spielman any day and I'll give you a team that refuses to lose. Give me a team of prima donnas and I'll show you a team that is more interested in calling attention to themselves than winning.
