as much as i loved jenkins intensity and ability to fire the team up, i dont think he is polamalu status. polamalu is a once in a decade kind of safety with speed, knock out hitting ability, hands, and the ability to just make plays. i hope i am wrong but i agree with mangold and holmes, good post my friend! go bucks!

I would attribute the following first rounders to the Tressel era:
2006: Hawk, Whitner, Holmes, Carpenter, Mangold 2007: Ginn, Gonzalez 2008: Gholston 2009: Jenkins, Wells 2010: Heyward
The only "busts" on the list are probably Carpenter and Gholston. Ginn is a disappointment. Gonzalez and Hawk might be considered mild disappointments at worst given their draft status, but they have been good pros overall. Whitner has been solid. Holmes, Malcolm Jenkins, Mangold, and Beanie are pretty darn good players. Heyward is still TBD.
I would guess that is at or above average for all first rounders from most any school. Some first rounders do not pan out.
I would tell Mr. Michigan fan to get his facts straight before he opens his mouth.
