The bottom line is that on Saturday they are honoring the 2002 National Championship team. Tressel coached that team. There should be nothing but cheers. They are not sending him out there to celebrate Tat Gate. We have been punished for that and he ultimately lost his job because of it. He was held accountable. If anyone wants to boo him, do it some other time. This is not about him. Its about the 2002 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM..........TEAM. Nobody on that team was involved in anything. All the crap that happened was way after that. Get it?

Martha Stewart lied to a congressional committee and went to prison. Tressel lied to the NCAA and went to Akron. Stewart got off easy!

Tomorrow is about honoring the 2002 national championship team. JT and Clarrett deserve every bit of honor and appreciation for a job well done. Love them or hate them none of the negative things in their careers had even transpired yet. It will be a great occasion celebrating the 10yr. anniversary of a national championship and a wim over scUM. If you can't handle having the people there that gave us that then your not a true Buckeye fan! GO BUCKS! FUCK MICHIGAN!

I hope Tressel gets the biggest, badest, loudest, most racous standing ovation in the history of The Ohio State University and Gene Smith gets booed outta dodge. Tressel took one for the team.

Pre Tressel we were losing to Air Force in bowl games and excited if we got a New Years Bowl game. Post Tressel we won more BCS games than any other team. Get over it. Tressel has done WAY more for OSU football than people who hate him want to admit. Had it been ANY other program he wouldve gotten a slap on the wrist. The NCAA went WAY overboard with him. NOBODY has EVER been kept out of the NFL because of what they did in the NCAA yet that happens to Tressel and Pryor. Get your head out of your ass, the NCAA had a hard on for him and made it to be far worse than the actual infraction he committed.

I wish people would get their freaking facts straight!

From the 11/11/11 Columbus Dispatch: "The NCAA says that OSU failed to monitor now-banished booster Bobby DiGeronimo and his dealings with players. 'Failure to monitor' is the NCAA’s second-toughest allegation against a program."

From the 11/10/11 Plain Dealer: "(As) the NCAA was checking out former OSU quarterback Terrelle Pryor after the tattoo scandal, they stumbled upon potential DiGeronimo issues. The NCAA has access to players' bank accounts in these situations, and the NCAA found a $200 check from Independence Excavating to Pryor. That led to questions and led to the NCAA checking other players' accounts and finding more who had received money for Independence Excavating."

We are not on probation because of Tatgate. We are NOT on probation because Tressel lied; his 5-year show cause is his punishment for that. We are on probation because of the Failure to Monitor, which was because DiGeronimo was paying guys to attend charity functions and despite not showing up for their summer jobs with his company. He had been busted for prior inappropriate contact and Doug Archie and his compliance team failed to keep an eye on him.

Not going to type a narrative here explaining it all. If you have ever been involved with D1 athletics on a large scale and privy to what goes on and if you paid attention to how all this went down including press conferences etc it doesn't take a genius to figure it out. Sure some little known facts to the outside fan base would help you understand but I'm not going to get into that here. Believe what you want and take what you are being fed and accept it. Nothing wrong with that if you like being duped. That is all.

Tressel does deserve to be at the game and acknowledged to the crowd. I wont cheer when his name is mentioned and will probably sit down if it is, so if you see someone in section 23A sitting, it will be me.

But, stop with this "he is a great man and was destroyed." He destroyed himself with his actions. That is why I have used the term "fraud" to describe him.

Ding! Ding! Ding! Jim Tressel did f-up. But all he did was not tell the school, or the NCAA he knew of potential rules violations, and it cost him his reputation and his career. The players involved, and a jock sniffing booster named Bobby DiGeronimo is who cost OSU a bowl game. Of what I remember hearing, Tressel knew Bobby D was bad news and tried like hell to keep him away from the players and the program.
