Word on Anzalone ...

  • on TOS is that he visited Florida on Thursday, one day before decommiting from OSU. FWIW.

When asked a few minutes ago on Twitter as to a landing spot for Anzalone, RivalsMike replied: UF.

Sal is a UF med school grad and a control freak it would seem.

Not much else needs to be understood.

  • +1 mig, wonder why he didn't just do it the right way. Say he committed to fast. Wanted to visit other schools. Instead his dad makes as ass out of both of them.
Honestly, after all this crap from his weird father. I'm glad tOSU doesn't have to deal with him for four years. What a head case. He needs a Dr himself.

  • I think after OSU caught wind of the UF visit, they pulled his offer.
They just did it to Neal and LSU, and was going to do it to Dunn and UofM in December if he visited again.
He got his offer pulled IMHO once they found out they visited Florida, then daddy created a story to create the decommit.
OSU would not take Anzalone after his dad's national comments yesterday, that ain't ever going to happen, his dad blew that bridge up.
Enjoy 4/5 losses a year with Muschamp, he will never capture the magic and fear Meyer created at UF and owned college football while he was there.
Look at Florida's schedule, they are headed for another 6 loss season, Muschamp is over his head against better coaches in the SEC and now FSU as well.. Meyer also stole Marrotti, the best S and C guy in the business and Pantoni, UF lost a lot more than Meyer when they lost Marrotti to OSU.

I said it in another thread and will say it again. This very well may come back to haunt this kid. His dad is an embarrassment to his entire family.

Who do you think were go after to replace him?

  • im no parent, but i do understand where as a parent it would bother you if you heard this pedo was around your kid. having to be realistic though, id also realize that this has absolutely nothing to do with ohio state, and if anything the only person to blame is my son for allowing himself to be in a bad situation. what exactly is my 17 year old son doing at a bar again? im just wondering i guess. good parenting?

Not sure. We just offered a LB from Maryland, very similar stat line.
A stud LB from Texas named Mitchell has OSU in his top three and wants to visit soon.
We have three young LB elites in Crowell, Shazier and Grant and signed 5 last year, LB is not a great need.
Maybe we take 1/2, because we sit great with early top 25 ESPN players Dante Booker from Akron and McMillan, both stud LB's and OSU could get both easily, and one for sure.
I just hope they so no to Anzalone, we do not need a ticking time bomb as a parent that runs to the media each time there is a bump in the road, let some other school handle that whacko.

    ohiost83

  • This was BS from the jump. The kid got caught up in the emotion of the visit, and obviously didn't have his father's blessing. Screw 'em if there too good to come here, just don't make up a lame ass excuse like you fear your 220 lb. LB'er was going to be overpowered by a pedo Harry Potter fan. If my kid were 8, I might be worried about that scumbag, but not if he's a stud HS recruit.

Where was his mommy? She was here to watch the little darling so pops should be calling her out.

  • I'm not going to disparage this kid. If he wants to go elsewhere than he should. I can't even begin to know the backstory here so I refuse to judge here.

BOTTOM LINE: It's not about the son, it's about Daddy.

  • I think its probably pretty safe to assume there was some negative comments about OSU when he visited UF, they certainly have some sour grapes. That's probably what the dad was referring to when he talked about all the big issues at OSU. Oh well...

I'm a father of 3 and I love my children and I have daughter on her way to the Navy next year just like Dr. Anazalone has son on his way to college. With that being said you can not be around your children 24 hours a day, you do the best you can to protect your children and hope the things you taught them, the time you invested in them will pay off when they are grown.. I have to from the statements the doctor made assume that he believes that he may not done a good job of raising his son the right way and,or pertaining to him immideatly placing blame on UFM and the school when this whole inncident occurred off campus away from the staff. You make the statement that he is trying to "protect his son" and I believe thats a a bunch of bull.. Dr. Anazalone in fact didnt want his son going to TOSU in the first place which goes back to my first point of protecting his son. If indeed he was afraid or concerned about his son where was the doctor when his son was fraternizing with perv? Hell if he was as concerned as you make him out to be his ass should have been in the pictures to? The good doctor through TOSU and the fan base under the bus to hide the fact that he doesnt have confidence he raised his son to make good discisions going forward in life, he made assinine statements then backtracked now all of the sudden TOSU is back in the picture?? I said before here on bucknuts that I didnt think the kid was that good a football player I dont care what the staff says or otherwise. So in the end you have a flawed father and apparently a flawed recruit who cant look after himself, who needs daddy to be there and hold his hand to protect his 17 year old 6'3 240 pound linebacker son.. GOOD RIDDANCE.. GO BUCKS..

Yep, this has to be it. Another thought, if the dad graduated from Florida, did Florida put him up to this? After the sleazeball article about Urban from a Florida grad about a month ago, I won't put anything past them.

Also, why is a perv from Kentucky interested in OSU players? Note, Kentucky is SEC country. Just saying. This smells.

Yeah I'm a father of four and I find that argument to be BS as well. The kid was on an unofficial visit and OSU was not responsible for him. Sal Anzalone is smart enough to know who was at fault, if anyone really, but he used the incident to push his own agenda. He is also smart enough to know that he shouldn't have made those unfounded accusations about OSU. Good luck to them. I don't care any more. Bring on Smith and Kimbrough.

isn't that considered to be an NCAA violation? I've seen the movie "The Blindside" lol. I thought it was up to the kid to make the choice, and parents should have little say in the matter?
