I agree. I like kickoff returners with long strides and because his legs aren't that long, Hall takes shorter, choppier strides. Returning kickoffs is get the ball, follow your blockers and go! The longer the stride and the faster the player, the more ground he can cover before the kicking team gets there. There's less need for him to shimmy and shake than there is to find a hole and boogie. But in punt returns, the gunners can get there the same time as the ball does, and having a smaller, shiftier RB who's been given a lot less space to manuveur and needs to be able to evade tacklers in close quarters works to the returner's advantage. If he can get the gunners to miss, he has a shot.

No idea who Urban's been looking at for returning kicks but I'm betting they're wide receivers, so I'll guess Fields, Smith and Spencer. Maybe Warren Ball or Ricquan Southwards once they're on campus.

soflabuck- I am not sure that there is anyone else to go back on the kick off return team. Hall doesnt fumble much. I say much because I did watch the wisky game. Chris Fields is probably the number two guy back there. Other than that, things are tight as far as offensive guys. I think Roby could be back there as well but I am not sure.

Iowa hit the nail on the head. Thats why Ted Ginn was so great at kick off returns. Same reason why he continued to be awesome at it in the NFL. His long stride. He broke away from coverage and it was history.
