ok i rarely post about michigan fans but...

  • i went over to their board cause i like to see what other fan bases talk about sometimes. i never do any posting on any boards other than bucknuts obviously. while scanning through their threads i ran into this thread: http://michigan.247sports.com/Board/59424/Would-you-do-it-the-osu-way-for-10-years-of-success-9065055/1

i honestly am mindblown by how much of a joke they are as fans. maybe i have low morals or something but how would you just trade 9-1 against your archrivals, a national championship, several bcs victories, 2 more national title appearances and all the other goodies that ohio state got through those 10 years for ONE year of a bowl ban? i mean are you crazy? it's a ONE year bowl ban for selling your own shit. i dont know what any of you guys think but i think i can officially say michigan people for sure drink different water than i do

  • They should just draw from their own experience. The "Fab 5" was the single dirtiest group of scumbags east of SMU. They somehow forget that.

    95buckeye

  • What did you expect from them??

    danmas

  • Not a big deal. They have to tell themselves something to feel better. It's also noteworthy that in that same topic of the tattoo "scandal", you'll never hear a Michigan fan bring up the fact that their 2009 team was cheating with regard to practice time (the reason they were on probation). We still kicked their asses that year. And call me crazy, but I'd venture a guess that extra practice time probably has a bigger impact to how you play on Saturdays than some kids selling their personal items. Michigan fans are just comical to watch. You can't take it seriously.

    Razorback

  • absolutely. i mean i just cant believe how it's so easy for them to "root for a clean program" when they had the largest basketball scandal in college history and their football team was put on probation just 2 or 3 years ago. very lol worthy

Bunch of clueless asses with a serious cause of penis envy.

  • Absolutely amazing. Didn't they just get busted and serve NCAA sanctions? There is nothing worse than stupidity in denial. Like the old saying goes you just can't fix stupid

    THEnutbuster

  • That's hilarious. Talk about digging and scratching for any reason to excuse to justify losing for so long. A couple sold key chains and that is the only reason they lost the game for a decade. Heck even Rich Rod probably would have dominated us if it wasn't for those two key chains last year. But the fab 5 was mediocre. But to be fair, there was a couple of people with at least a little bit of common sense. A couple...

  • So in their own examples they must have less respect for their football team for cheating practices in the summer or is it different because its their team that did it?

Or extra practices? Sounds to me like cheating, but didn't have the big daddy NCAA tear you up yet. Maybe its just me, but it sounds like they don't care because of being irrelevant. Maybe you haven't watched the news lately but I have one word to say, Baylor...

    BuckDigger

  • If y'all are too proud or too ignorant to admit there's a huge differnce between accidentally practicing for 20 extra minutes a week because of a misunderstaning about vague rules over whether "stretching" counts as "practicing", as opposed to having your head coach lie to the NCAA repeatedly about his own cheating (knowingly playing inelligible players), then you have no business bashing another fanbase for having a debate over whether they'd rather win while cheating or suck while not disgracing their tradition/reputation/image. Tressell and OSU and Tatgate were a national punchline; RichRod and UM and Stretchgate were a footnoted anamoly with which most coaches and fans actually sympathized.

Look I realize I'm registering perilously high on the douche-meter today, but fellas your anti-Michigan jabs lately are getting laughably baseless. This board wasn't like this a couple years ago. Is it because now the shoe's on the other foot, now you've got the controversial hated coach with baggage trying to run a gimmicky high-school spread offense and dissing his instate recruiting base, while we've got the saintly low-profile figure running the pro-style (err... eventually) who's cleaning-up in the midwestern recruiting region, is it this juxtaposition that's got everyone all pissy and twisted? Is it the nervousnous of the unknown? Is it because you simply lost to Michigan for the first time in several years? Whatever it is, it says a lot about who you are, and how you're handling yourselves as a fanbase during this challenging period.

One big difference; the so-called Fab 5 did not win a championship.

I definately gave you an upvote but I will also tell you what I tell everyone that goes there:
It's "YOUR FAULT". Don't put your foot in the $hit hole up north and you won't have to clean your shoes. Personally I could not care less what those scum bags say or do.

Yeah that's why I don't go over there. People from our side of the fence will almost never agree with much their people say, and so you get flame wars ensuing. Kinda like what native_tsun is doing in our threads here in the past 12-14 hours. Just stirring the pot because like I say there is very little the two sides will agree on in general.

There has been a whole lot of anti Michigan stuff going around lately. I don't knw what exactly stems from but I doubt it's Urban Meyer as our coach. Yes he runs a "gimmicky high school offense" as you put it but while your previous coach ran a similar offense he also didn't come in with 2 national championship rings on his finger. He also didn't recruit the defense very well and as a matter of fact your offense wasn't really what the problem was it was your d. So no it's not because of Meyer most of the recent stories wrote about him are much ado about nothing anyways nothing really new. Obviously losing to UM for the first time in a while stings but it wasn't unexpected given the team we had and it wasn't exactly like we got thrashed the same way you did the year before and 2 years before that. I am going to guess recruiting has us maybe a little worried because right now it looks like were not going to get anyone. At the same time it is still really early and late in the recruiting season last year we were like 18th and made a charge up to 4th in the overall recruiting rankings. I am going to guess it is a combination of all the above here and added in that it is the offseason and we are all really bored and excited for the upcoming season. I have to say last year nobody was all the excited for the season to start because the realistic ones of us knew it wouldn't be pretty.
