Anyone else underwhelmed by the recruiting so far?

    Since Ubran came here, I've gotten more into recruiting than I have before. I think I've been a victim of having too high of expectations. I'm just going to lower my expectations and see how things go.

    You don't have to lower your expectations, just understand the reality.

    Your expectations are that Ohio will recruit a roster full of elite players, and guess what, they will:)

    Ohio is always going to attract the best, as will Michigan. Right now I'm getting to enjoy the recruiting blitz as a Michigan fan, and as the year goes on you'll have your time too. Then it will come down to who coaches better and how the breaks go. It is and always will be that way.

    You're the victim? Sounds like you are being unealistic and holding Meyer hostage with YOUR expectations. You as a fan just cheer and let Meyer sweat the big stuff

    You are exactly right. I have had numerous Buckeye fans get the boot on the mich board for using SCum, AACC or less for that matter. You seem reasonable and are welcome here with that attitude.

  • If scUM didn't have 14 recruits, no one would be worried about the class tOSU has right now. It is still crazy to me that people are so scared of scUM on these boards. Every time Hoke farts, someone posts it on here. Oh my God, scUM got another recruit. What are we going to do? As many posters said on here, it is only MARCH!!!!!!!!

    When you Mushiganders use Eh it just makes me laugh and think I should get a large group of people to petition congress to sell that state to our neighboring nation to the North so they can name it Lower Canada. I would put in a clause that says We the people would prefer to keep the automobile factories, the Detroit Red Wings and MIS but you Canada can have the rest.

  • I am amazed by the Michigan folks that come to this board and the Ohio State fans that go to the scUM boards. I have never had any inkling to go over to their board. My passive interest in who they are recruiting is satisfied by what I read here (which I consider more than I want to know) and I have no desire to spend precious moments trolling their boards. Good for them when they get a good recruit but, in final analysis, unless it is a guy we really wanted, who cares? Definitely more focused in on who we get rather than who everyone else gets

  • When you offering & recruiting National level kids you have to be patient. It takes time for players & their families to take visits, build staff relationships, sort through pro's & cons of every school/offer. Biggest decisionof a kids life.

    I, and a lot of other people, thought that this class would have filled up a lot quicker than it has. There are some good recruits that we've got so far, but I think people expected more sooner. After watching michigan and other schools fill up, I think some people are scratching their heads, wondering what's going on.

    It seems like the more time goes on the more excuses people make and the more people keep saying things like "trust urban".

    Yes i think OSU should just quit and not pay the next couple of years. We are 1 month from the 2012 signing day. RELAX

  • Lots of kids want to see what TOSU does this year with the new Offence im sure. Everyone knows coach Meyers track record but they still might want to see what this spread can do in cold weather and in the big ten. We all love the Bucks and we are all pretty sure that Osu is going to be very good. The kids down south and in other states don’t love the Bucks like we do as fans so maybe they want to wait and see then make a commit. Plus like some of the guys said what kid doesn’t want all of the schools fighting over them. After kids start to see Osu take off I think more will come. We are not like scum and take anyone that comes our way with out them even playing a game in there senior year of high school . I think After the spring game we will get a few more. Relax Coach is building it they will come. Go Bucks!!!

  • My biggest concern is that a lot of these kids the bucks are targeting don't really list ohio state as their leader or favorite. I understand it's still early in the process, but it does seem kind of dishearting to see michigan, florida and other teams of the such load up on studs and have kids that are vocal about them while it seems like a lot of ohio state's top targets (jaylon smith, Derrick Green, rob foster to a lesser extent) and others seem real silent about ohio state.

    It still is early in the process, so we'll have to see how things go.

  • Follow Cam and Jalin on twitter. They are not silent we have two 5 star kids recruiting for us, they will continue to do so going to the UA and Army games. Be patient we are recruiting speed depth and playmakers Urban will make it happen.

  • I'm sure they're donig what they can, and I don't mean to be a debbie downer. I'm sure things will get better(not that they're really that bad right now), but yeah, I'm not really one of those guys that thinks michigan being good is good for ohio state. I'd rather see Ohio State crush Michigan every year and Michigan get trash recruits.

  • If you saw the elite list of speed/elite explosive athletes Meyer has coming in during the whole spring game weekend, the visits he has coming in soon as well with kids from Florida, Texas and North Carolina, and the handful of silent commits they got waiting for spring game weekend, you would not even post this.
    No one in the Big Ten will land the freak/athlete DL, DB's and explosive play makers Meyer will get year in and year out in the mid atlantic, through Florida and Texas, no one.
    That is how he won national titles at Florida, and Bama and LSU are dominating.
    The list of DT's and DE's from OOS we probably end up with, and may have to pass on is boggling.
    Keep pancing in March when recruiting is a marathon, not a sprint.
    Urban Meyer will not take the fringe players we use to take from Ohio, their foot print into the mid atlantic, the south and Texas got expanded with Meyer and all his new coaches from those areas.
