Not that I'm worried about Meyer's recruiting at this stage, but I understand where you are coming from.
I'm not sure why I bother being shocked by the double standards some posters display. When ****igan was getting commitments from 3-stars, we were all down their throat crowing how Hokey will mostly have to settle for second-rate recruits.
In case no one noticed, Meyer's two most recent commitments have not exactly received rave reviews from the recruiting services. Yet somehow we give Meyer the benefit of the doubt while trashing Hokey for taking the same caliber prospects -- ignoring the fact that if Hokey's commitments hold, ****igan will likely have the best o-line class in the country supported by at least one top running back, a top safety (from Ohio), and a top quarterback.
Again, I'm not here to bash Meyer. Unfortunately, not everyone he offers will always be interested in Ohio State, and he will sometimes have to settle for plan b. Nothing wrong with that. What is a wee bit puzzling is praising Meyer's instincts while trashing Hokey when each gains the commitment of a 3-star prep player.
Consistency is a virtue.

For the most part, I agree although I like Elliott (Thompson to me's a head scratcher since safety isn't a priority). I saw Hoke as a good hire. He took two programs with no reputations for football and led them to bowl games. Ball State may be the MAC's worst FB program, its version of Indiana, and he coached them to 11-1 in 2008. He's 58-52 overall but in his last seasons at Ball State and SDS and his first year at scUM, he's 32-7. And as a former scUM assistant who grew up in Ohio, I knew he'd get The Rivalry and the importance of recruiting Ohio. And now, for the 2nd year in a row, scUM's putting together a very good class. I would take any of their OLs. I like Jake Butt. Now we have Marcus Baugh and their TE "advantage" as been neutralized. But aside from Thomas, the only Ohioan thus far who's gotten away that we might wished we'd bagged is McCray but I'm trusting Urban's vision for the LB position.
I guess when it comes to our 3-stars being better than theirs, all babies are cute but mine's beautiful and that's because it's mine.
There's a generation of Buckeye fans who were spoiled by Tressel's 9-1 record. Some of us lived through much tougher times. I always knew Michig@n would be back because they're too proud to be kept down too long. And now, whether we like it or not or regardless of whether people want to admit it or not, they're back. Strap yourselves in, boys--we're in for a wild ride!

Anyone else underwhelmed by the recruiting so far?
